Pickering, Ontario
To Toronto: Bobby Brink

To Philly: Joseph Woll

Leafs target a winger to give us some offense to replace Marner as he most likely walks to another team. Brink is small but productive and still decently young so maybe his upside can get him to a Connor garland type player in a few years.

Flyers have a gaping hole in their goaltending position. Woll had a .909 in 40+ starts which would make him an above average goalie, he is 26ish and signed for 3 years at a good rate (3.67M). Flyers can look to see the quality of goaltender Woll is giving him a run to take 1G spot and be goalie for their future contention period in a few years.

Is the deal reasonable and one both teams could possibly consider?

Leafs need to add a lot. Woll is a good platoon goalie, but good platoon goalies don't have nearly this kind of value.
I'd add FLR 2nd at most to get the deal done. Don't think paying more than that makes sense for the leafs when Brink has a question marks about effectiveness come playoffs due to size and isn't going to be a guy who is a surefire bet to be a strong playoff contributor where you pay Woll + Cowan type prospect to acquire

Leafs trading for a smaller Pass first Robertson like player. ...Robertson had great effort and has a great shot and Berube wouldnt keep him in the lineup. Why would you think a smaller pass first fellow would be a good player to trade for, especially at the cost of what the Leafs consider the future #1 goalie (though i'm less inclined to think so)?

I don't see the flyers moving brink for a goalie aside from having little at the center position there's a lack of playmakers all around.

Honestly it doesn’t seem unfair from the aspect that despite each showing flashes of real talent, I’m not sure either is a “sure thing” to be an impact contributor for a contender.

Both the Flyers viewpoint of “we have some goalies already and Woll, even if an upgrade when healthy, doesn’t move the needle at this stage of our rebuild” and the Leafs viewpoint of “we already have Robertson laying around and even if Brink is a better player, we aren’t sure that player type really is going to move the playoff pendulum forward”…seem perfectly reasonable.

OP leaves Flyers with too many goalies.

Brink + Fedotov
for
Woll + Jarnkrok

Opens up approx 1 million in cap space for Toronto.

Toronto gets the most overpaid / lowest value contract (Fedotov) but also gets a bit of cap space.

Trade could also be modified to be Woll + (Steeves/Reaves/Niemela?) for Brink + Ersson.

Fedotov is relatively moveable if Toronto wants to do Fedotov plus for some other goalie. Under $3.5m and one year only, and that's without Leafs retaining anything too. Leafs can also just roll with Stolarz Fedotov and Hildeby Aktyamov as callups, if Treliving is comfortable with that.

For the record, I think this trade is lopsided and the Leafs lose the trade, but it really matters how Woll is valued by each person, and by Briere I suppose. I want to give Woll another chance and see if he can continue to improve. Others want him traded. We'll see what happens.

if I’m Philly, last thing I want is another goalie. The guys they have should give them a great chance to get McKenna
That’s how I look at it. Bad goalies gives you a lottery pick even with others guys playing well and developing. The Flyers have at least one really good goalie prospect, maybe two. I’m comfortable waiting on goalie. Ersson is good, just can’t play every game.
