oh look, Matthews hits 70 points. wonder what new negative the mainboards will manufacture now.

You don't need to go there to find it:

What?!

He has 70 points and makes McDavid money, the one goal today does not change how he has played for a large portion of the season.

I know he has all the talent in the world, I don't doubt that, but he still needs to be the player he was before injury.

Anyone else feel like having Jim hughson commentate our playoff games is a bit of a discouraging blow? bit of a curse? Roots against us and is just awful as he is

Games don't mean anything to Boston recently either. Their fate is sealed just as much as ours. They've done far better than us since our positions were locked.

No arguing that.Said it before, our guys talk the talk, they need to walk the walk and they need to do it soon. The shit is going to hit the fan if the Bruins shred them.

Haha there's no winning.
It's funny, I thought "stupid main boards" then I realized we committed the second highest cap hit in the league to a player who never hit 70pts. I believe in his production, but it's pretty nuts to think about.

Yep. Worst fan base in the league. They eat their own. Have to pit one against the other.

My bet is Matthews leaves.

Kinda hope he does. Not that it will change anything but it would be well deserved
If he's going to demand to be dramatically overpaid based on league-wide comparables, I hope he leaves as well.

But what I hope more than anything is that he becomes great and accepts a fair contract.

He's not on the same level as Marner, but he's better than he's shown. The big thing is though, Marner plays with a shift to shift intensity that most of this team lacks. I also don't think that is a trait you just develop. Marner developed it due to being undersized and always playing with a chip on his shoulder due to how much he's been doubted. That has never been the case with the other 2 big 3 members.

I disagree.

Nylander's shooting and scoring ability is far superior to Marner.
Nylander's ability to thread the needle and find the target is nearly on the same level.
Nylander's vision and playmaking ability is nowhere near Marner, very few in the NHL are.

Top end, with ideal linemates, I can seem one being a 25-30 goal and 70-80 assist guy, and the other a 35-40 goal and 50-60 assist player.

Overall, Marner is the better player, but strictly offensively, they're not (at their very best) all that far apart.

Oh ok sorry

AM is the greatest hockey player that ever lived, should be paid 20 million dollars per year, and with his intensity we will win 27 cups in a row.

GO LEAFS GO

Greatest D in the league, what a GA.

This should cover it, sorry for ever insulting the Leafs.
