I am PRETTY sure all of us love AM, thanks for the smart ass remark.

It is the fact he will be paid a HUGE part of our cap, and is ONLY a 70 point player who rarely looks engaged.

His talent is undeniable.

If he plays like he can, he is worth a blank cheque.

Saying Matthews "rarely looks engaged" is just not remotely true

I'll give you a great reason.

In terms of absolute skill, the Leafs have Boston completely dominated, especially down the middle.
They can play complete games, as in they have the capability.
The game against Tampa Bay when Vasilevsky returned from injury was all Toronto, Tampa had no business being in the game at all, except for the goalie stealing the result.

Boston will rely heavily on their solitary offensive line and also on Chara on the back end.
If the Leafs can somehow wear down big Z and mitigate the damage from that incredible first line, there is a great chance they win the series.

If the Leafs play like this second period, we can all get ready for the Raptors' playoffs.

Can't say that I disagree

No he isn’t what a stupid comment. In total money he earns less than a ton of players and per year he earns left than mcdavid. Sorry you consistently make stupid posts like this. At no point in this deal does he earn more than mcdavid
Term is a MAJOR part of the negotiation process for an rfa. Being in denial about that is just... well... being in denial.

What about that was a lie? When TERM is considered, Matthews is the highest paid player. Take his aav to 8 years, and it's far higher than McDavid's.
We know his AAV and we know McDavids. McDavids is higher. That's why I said he's the second highest paid player
