I think it will be good to have Nick Ritchie for a game like tonight.

Looking for him and Simmonds to really assert a physical presence tonight.

Man have I missed playing US based teams…. Game day just feels so different now.

I'd start the 4th line and let them set the tone like LA did on Monday.

First game between Leafs and Flyers , Jan 24/1968.
Doug Favel stopped 46 shots in a 2-1 Flyers victory.

I hope JT is in but I'd like to see Semyonov get a chance too. If Kase isn't in hopefully he'll get a shot.

2 forwards who could be shot out of a cannon so far are Ritchie and Engvall... game 14 tonight ... figure it out. Ritchie I'll give a little more lee way too being on a new team but he needs to chip in. He's had opportunities but nothing to show for.

Engvall just isn't figuring it out. Same ol with him. Black hole offensively. I know he's on the checking line but plays die on his stick in the offensive zone. He's fast and has a good shot but seems like no idea how to put it together.

Holl being back in ... he better have a hell of a game. He's been terrible so far. I hope the time off shook the cobwebs out.

Kind of a negative post I know... but otherwise they've been good lately.

Just forget the last game and start fresh.

Honestly even if its minor I'd like to see J.T sit, unless he is 100% don't play him, we need him come playoffs, healthy as an ox.

He's played lights out, he could take a day, but knowing him he'll get put into the lineup refusing to take a day off.

is Holl in?

Who is out?

And lets be real.
Sitting Kase for Anderson or Semyonov for a game would not hurt.
Would rather be very safe with him.

If Tavares can go he should go why choose to weaken your team?

I didn't say to sit out Tavares or imply to do that if he's healthy. There are other players to sit out in order to insert players.

Spezza could probably use a game day off. He's great though. Kase seems banged up. Ritchie kinda needs a benching. Engvall is pretty meh.

Insert some energy and hopefully hungry players. Maybe one or both show you something really good.

Actually that's exactly what you said

"I'd still instert Anderson and Semyonov even if Kase and/or Tavares are good to go."

That's EXACTLY what you said

"Give a couple players a night off"

But sure... Let me rephrase since this feels like a big deal.

If they are good to go I'd still play Anderson and Semyonov. Remove other players in order to insert them.

Is that better sir?

Much as I love what he brings, wondering if giving Spezza a night off is such a bad thing.

The guy gives it his all no matter what but maybe some load management for him isn’t a bad thing…

Not with Tavares out. Friday or Saturday would be a good option though.

No Tavares
Well Matty it’s your game to shine
Go back to Matthews Marner and put nylander with bunting and kerfoot

Lets hope the Leafs rebound and chalk up another win.

This should be a pretty close game with Philly off to a slightly better start than our Leafs with 14 points after 10 games vs 15 points after 13 games for our Leafs.
