It's amazing that we have an AHL coach, have had AHL GM's, and AHL players, and somehow have managed to have the 4th best record in the NHL, for the last full three seasons.

That's elite level NHL performance right there in the regular season, so perhaps some credit where credit is due. Everyone involved, has delivered one of the best Leafs teams that you'll see in your lifetime, some elite talent, and elite regular season results.

Having said that, we haven't been near good enough in the playoffs, and that's where it counts, so some changes are needed... but just because we haven't had the final success we all want, doesn't mean that we haven't witnessed elite levels of a team, and those coaches, GM's, and players are better than you give them credit for.

The coach gets good results, but he's really just leeching off of the great group of players, so he gets no credit.
The GM who assembled the great group of players gets no credit either, because it's really just the core that makes us good.
But also, our core sucks and we should trade them away.

And then there is their 1-7 playoff series record which apparently did not impress Keon.

Good, I want nothing to do with Marner’s next contract.
If this management team had any guts, they should tell him to GTFO and go look elsewhere. How many teams out there are willing to pay this guy $11mx8? Only one team dumb enough to pay that much to a player who disappears in games 5-7 of playoff series. Take away Matthews and this guy is a PPG at best IMO.

Here is a funny fact. a good AHL coach should be able to prepare players for playing the pro game. Leafs do not lose a game because they are out-man or out-talent. They lost the game because players made fundamental or careless mistakes, as OTT or BUF did.
