Im cheering for health tbh.

Sure Mathews getting 70 and willy getting 100 is great but if they go into the playoffs at 70% because someone slashed them on the wrist or something like that, ill be so mad

That's what I've been saying. Some have scoffed that milestones and numbers don't mean much but I think that's not true in hockey personally and in Willy's case signing that contract mid season in this environment, it is pretty significant he is considered a 100 point top 10 scorer.

I don't disagree, but I have a feeling the Leafs will end up backing into home ice by virtue of Florida not putting much effort into its final four games.

Wouldn't be surprised if they gave Giordano the night off and dress Timmins.

Even though they shit the bed in game #7s, I still want game #7 in our barn. All 3 game #7s at home have been one goal games. We got blown out in 2 game #7s in Boston (7-4 and 5-1).

I don't understand why this is a taboo thing in hockey to be honest. Happens all the time in other sports like NBA, NFL, MLB, soccer etc.

As others have said, Matthews hitting 70 (looking rather easy with the way he’s scoring) and nylander getting 100 (Looking tough with the way he’s playing) are all that’s left.

The games now just don’t feel as entertaining, even if we blow them out, but the players just don’t feel as into it either.

Nylander's "That would be cool" comment, not giving one crap if he hits 100 or not pretty much confirms he's conserving himself for the playoffs.

If there's a player we have that wants a Cup badly it's Nylander.

Personally I want him to hit 110 points so then when Mitch asks for more money than Willie, he won't have a case because he has never reached the 40 goal and 100 point plateau.
 
Hope Mat just stands in the hash marks blasting everything that comes his way.

They play the Sens tonight who they beat 6-0 last week. The Jackets, Sabres and Leafs. All home games. Worst case they save their best game for the Leafs. They are not gifting the Leafs home ice.

Teams like Ottawa, Columbus and Buffalo who have absolutely nothing to play for are most dangerous this time of year.

Agreed but not so much if home ice is on the line. We'll see who really wants home ice in the Atlantic starting tonight.
 
I want Mathews and our stars to rest in the final 2 games in Florida.

I honestly dont care if he's close to 70 goals. Im prioritizing risk of injury

I’d prefer he play a 200’ game and get dialed in for the important part of the season and maybe we can have some team success for a change.
