Looks like we're carrying 8D for awhile. Can't say I blame Carlyle for doing so since Frattin was exempt and Connolly cleared. The Forward depth can stay on the Marlies so that we can carry the extra weight in the backend and make a move at the deadline if needed.
That all said, we're probably going to lose one of Kostka, Komisarek or Fraser. I'm guessing Fraser will be the guy as he has the greatest chance of clearing although I would hate to lose the sandpaper he brings.
I dont think anyone is "untouchable" on this blueline but the closet ones to safe are Phanuef, Riley and Gardienr. The rest are either stopgaps or they are expendable IMO.
I think it has to do with the fact Holzer doesnt have to clear waivers, could be wrong though.

Holzer is playing with a broken foot which is really hampering his play. He's not as physically present as he was last season.
I hope it heals up because I think he can be a solid defender in this group...certainly better than Komisarek and possibly even Franson.
