If its so iffy that he cant name the starter until gametime, its gotta be hutchinson, especially with how the team is playing, why push someone to come back early

I thought tonight would have been the perfect night to give some guys a maintenance night.
Give two of Brodie/Muzzin/Holl/Bogosian the night off, play Lehtonen/Liljegren.
Give Hyman/Nylander/whoever else has a nagging injury a night off. throw in Barabanov/Petan/Agostino.
Play Woll or Hutch.
I'm sure guys never want to miss a game but this is a spot in the schedule where they could have gotten an extra day to rest. The boys earned it.

They have a couple of four-day breaks coming up anyway.
One after March 14th and then another one after March 20th.

I am not a fan of the later games but hopefully the leafs come out swinging this game. I still think this will be a cycle game but we will see.
I'm actually enjoying the west coast start times. But then again I moved to Alberta three years ago and am deep in oiler's country. The last 3 games was sweet as I got to make fun of many of my coworkers who were convinced before the 3 game series started that the oilers would be on top of the north right now.

I prefer the usual early games since they give me a reason to stop working earlier than usual. But today it works out perfectly since I can't cut out early today.

Not sure what you mean by that. Part of Spezzas good play has been due to Boyd who has been the perfect bottom 6 player. He has done more than goat and Petan has done with Spezza
he’s been hardly feeding off anyone. Second Vesey goal he made the pass to Spezza to send him free. He has been a solid addition.
Petan has been trash. Will he ever score a goal ? He’s soft along the boards
Keefe should look at load management like others here have been saying (not criticizing him at all he's been the best coach in the league IMO). We got a good gap.. and we should look to try and test out other players and give them some reps just in case there are Injuries so those players are better adjusted.
I'm waiting to see Galchenyuk get a shot. Liligren, Sandin need more looks... And really hope Simmonds doesn't lose a step when he gets back from Injury, he was starting to pick up speed and get. Adjusted more and more as the games went on, I feel he will need more time to get better adjusted to the line up because the leafs are flying right now.

Yeah was just looking at that. They play the Sens March 14th, then the flames b2b 19th and 20th, then sens again the 25th. So only 2 games between the 15th and 24th. Lots of time to rest.
In these divisional races, things can look good but a 3-4-5- game spin and another team winning 4 straight can turn things in a hurry. Short season go hard for every point!

Gonna be unhappy if Liljegren doesn't slot in. If he's not getting in on the b2b, why are we keeping him away from Marlies games?

That was my thought as well, if it’s so iffy that they are still game time decisions just put Hutchinson in until they are actually good to go.

I think it is also about allowing them to collect an NHL salary while up with the big club - so a matter of spreading the wealth. Could be wrong though.
JAM is good at the start of the game.
JO-MAMA is good to rub it in later in the game when they're dominating.

Thought about that too, but him missing time now seems inopportune. Put him on the taxi squad when the Marlies aren't playing even if its just a paper transaction.

I really hope that third line stays on fire. Would be nice to have a strong third line that we don't need to worry about all season

House league, of course, the old man wouldn't let me play MTHL - was I even good enough - but those memories have lasted a lifetime. Cheers to you

Yeah I don't get it either. This seems like the perfect game to play him to give Bogo a rest too. I know Keefe said they wanted him around the team, but not sure what good that does. He has been around the team enough that he has probably grasped the new system's. You have today and Saturday, and then a series against a tough opponent in Winnipeg and there is no chance he plays in that series.
My preference is rest Thornton, Muzzin and Bogosian, and replace the d man with Liljegren and Lehtonen. If not Muzzin then Bogosian for sure.

One thing I’m certain of is that line will always give 100% and more often than not control the puck; Mik and Hyman are absolute beasts among kittens

Yes sire. I don't understand why some are suggesting Woll in, since Huthison has been our best goalie stats wise this season? He has won everythang, shutout and all. Best stats period. We are trying to play (winning ice hockey sire), so this ain't no testing kit. Nah sire, not at all. Teams are not trying to play 4 goalies and rotating them, but only a few and get the team to know the goalies and all. Know them well. Safe.
Huthsison is right now our second goalie, since campbell is gone. So we'll go with him, if andersen or campbell can't play. Or when its back to back gezames.
