It seems to be based on the philosophy that the longer you have the puck the more you will score.

It most often times doesn't really work like that

In the first they had shifts where they were only comfortable moving the puck up to their own hash marks before regrouping. Sometimes you need to chip and chase to generate that up ice momentum but they don’t have the horses.

I think it is coaching because we have a few guys who can uncork it. They prefer the D carries it down low and tries to attack the net as a unit vs a low % shot is my guess. But sometimes you gotta use what is given
