As I explained prior to the playoffs, it would be virtually impossible for the Leafs to go 16-0in the postseason. And i implored everyone not to overreact at the first sign of adversity.

Game 6 is a must win because mentally this team and fan base won’t be able to handle a game 7. It’d be 2021 all over again where it feels like we’re walking to the gallows. They don't deserve to play with preferred linemates with how shit they've been. If Berube thinks marner can be most effective with lorentz-laughton, then marner better get ready to block shots, and play 15 minutes a night

go matthews-nylander or matthews-domi or a personal favourite matthews-reaves in the pressbox (this is a joke)

matthews is already a big loser, playing him with marner draws out an even bigger one, and vice versa for marner. Not saying nylander or domi are better, but ffs we've ran these two together and failed.

I'll listen to them once, but we hear this shit yearly. Last year migraines, stomach flus, and high ankle sprains. In the past we've heard back issues, wrist issues, and all that stuff

draisaitl played through a broken rib + high ankle sprain, Chara had his jaw wired shut...guys play through injuries and do it effectively. It's time to grow up and call a spade a spade:

Nylander doesn’t usually hide behind the mystery injury stuff other than the migraines. Just looks like his game fell apart after Game 1 or 2 so either somethings wrong or he’s just playing like an unserious sloppy game. Could be anything.

his first step should be to ensure those two don't touch the ice together at even strength.

If you don't strap Matthews with either Marner or Nylander he is useless offensively especially in the post season doubly so in elimination games. You might as well scratch him at that point and put Kampf in and you get more value.

Marner is equally useless if he doesn't have one of Nylander or Tavares on his line.

You could put Nylander on line 1 and Marner on line 2. I always liked Nylander with Matthews more personally.

As much as I love the "identity" line. They should not be playing so many minutes in a game where the buds are down a goal. There is 0 scoring touch on that line. Also the 2nd unit powerplay is trash. But that's just the window dressing on this awful performance. The core 4 once again choke away multiple powerplays in a decisive series clinching games and now with the added benefit of giving up backbreaking shorties. This is not a recording.

Why not? Both those teams equally sucked on paper and were massive underdogs. Just like Montreal going to the finals after is irrelevant so too would Ottawa beating Florida after hypothetically be just as irrelevant to the overall point that they completely butchered it

Well, to state the obvious, 3-0 is a lot f***ing different from 3-1. One has been overcome four times ever, the other nineteen.

The timing of it is the other factor. For this to happen after all that other shit happened, it would be looked at a lot differently than if it was just their first or second failure .
