Post-Game Talk: Leafs Book Their Tickets for Game 7 [MOD WARNING in OP]

So the team can't score, but Stolarz should sit? Yeah, that makes perfect sense.

Stolarz is playing below replacement level in the series right now. He's been a net negative in both goals saved above expected and wins above replacement.

If you give your goalie 2 chances to close out a team where he faced under 20 shots and he's under .900 in both of them, you have to think about trying someone else when you have the chance. If Woll is just as bad (or worse), you now have a rested Stolarz for Game 7.

I’m no longer happy with just letting him walk. I need his firing to be public and humiliating. The only part of his tenure with the Leafs that went even remotely right was the tanking/losing. after that it’s been a decade of failure.
Even if they win this series your point holds true. That's sad.

I said this before the series that it will be a close one. Leafs are a pathetic team and their pathetic record against sens since 2023 was 1-6. Yea we are just that pathetic.

Oh well hopefully they win because we have even worse record in the playoffs rounds with this sqaud. 1-7 or 8 or something like that. 😂

Re-sign Knies to a full 8-year deal and give him the C.

I’m ready for the next iteration of the Leafs led by him.

I feel like the low shot count really skewes those numbers. Not sure you can take them at face value.

They were a post in OT away from a sweep. Man, hockey is a bitch.

Yeah they were a post away .. instead of coming back home and taking care of business they laid an egg giving the opposition a lot of hope and momentum on home ice.

Pressure is all on Toronto now.

It's one thing to lose game 5 .. but how they lost it tonight. Yikes. This seems like when they folded against Montreal.

Berube has a lot to sort out and not much time.

So 1-13 on series clinching games. 0-30 pp streak on series clinching games.

Is there any precedent for this? And I ask that honestly. Is there any other team franchise of star players where something like this happens? Or is this top to bottom 100% completely unique to this Toronto Maple leaf core of star players? In other words, has ANYTHING like this happened spanning world history?
We are historically incompetent

I love cheering for this team

Kyper was right. Woll should have started game 4. Lose and you come back with Stolarz in game 5. That ship has sailed.

They were up 3-0 and Kyper said they should switch goalies? He suffered more brain damage during his career than I had thought.

Neither goals Stolie could have done anything about them

We couldn't even get a goal for him in our own barn

We even had 4 min pp in OT last game

We are focusing on the wrong things

And the Sens were 2 shots away from having this series wrapped up!

Way closer than it should be imo. If the Leafs are as good as they think they are, this series would be over.
That about sums it up.

They might win the series but these guys just don't hate losing enough. They just don't.

All the pressure is on them. They didn’t handle it well tonight, or never for that matter, so let’s sit back and see what they do.
I swear Ryan O'Rielly willed them to that series win over Tampa and was like, never again lol

It's strange they have not been able to work though whatever mental blockers they have that prevent them from performing in series clinching games. I am sure there are some shrinks out there that had a lot of money riding on the Sens!
