Legitimate question, are either of Marner and Matthews even at the level of 70 point players without playing with each other or with Nylander? I haven't seen much proof of them being able to succeed with average players. Nylander can at least carry a line and has proven he can succeed no matter who you put on his line.

Are Marner or Matthews even $8million players in the playoffs if they are not playing with a superstar on their line? I'm genuinely curious because I think the answer is no.

Leafs nation doesn't want to swallow the truth.

Even half the people this board full of homers are completely happy with marner being glued to matthews all season. Perfectly fine. Never even envisioned the possibility of needing to split them in the playoffs for match up reasons.

Don't dress Matthews & Marner.

The Leafs called up a bunch of Marlies players. Dress two of them instead.

Never happen, but it would be the ballsy-est, most bad ass move a NHL coach has ever made. And the rest of the guys would respond with an intensity we haven't seen since Tucker & Gilmour, and they'd win.
