36 million, 3 guys, 5 playoff games, 3 goals and they want more. If it wasn’t for the 5 goals from the D we would be out already.

The D revert to the norm and it’s harder to win.

This series has been dog sheet anyway you slice it.

Embarrassing. I have no idea how they aren't. Core 4 are just choke artists. Always has been. Trade everyone and just keep Knies at this point. So tired of having hope and they just don't give a f***.

I didn’t watch a single regular season game this year. I started watching when the playoffs started and basically it feels like I’m watching a regular season game. The Leafs should have way more firepower and experience but they just don’t have another gear - just like in years past. It feels like they’re always passing around the perimeter and playing in slow motion until the last few minutes of the game when they’re losing. Today they couldn’t even get going when they desperately needed a goal. This team needs more players like Knies and less like their other guys.

My disappointment list in order of most disappointed in:
1. Matthews - had a chance to make a difference, didn't get it done, otherwise sucked
2. Marner - typical elimination game experience
3. Nylander - looked like he was out there on a island not knowing what to do
4. Tavares - the least bad of the bad core which is still very very bad
5. doesn't matter from here

Legitimate question, are either of Marner and Matthews even at the level of 70 point players without playing with each other or with Nylander? I haven't seen much proof of them being able to succeed with average players. Nylander can at least carry a line and has proven he can succeed no matter who you put on his line.

Are Marner or Matthews even $8million players in the playoffs if they are not playing with a superstar on their line? I'm genuinely curious because I think the answer is no.

I guess they could go the Canucks route, up 3-0, tied 3-3, OT win Game 7, run to the finals to get blown out in Game 7.

This series is destined to extract maximum dollars for a Leafs Game 7 home game and maximum pain. And we are going to lose this series because it’s not about the probability of coming back 3-0 or 4 chances to close it out, but the decade long masochistic promise Babcock laid out when he said there would be pain. He didn’t say they would overcome this pain.

Give Ottawa credit but we had enough chances to win this game. Once again the offence can’t execute in an elimination game. Matthews by far the biggest disappointment in this series. One goal by the highest paid player in the league.

Having said that, based on the play during this series, 3-2 is fair after 5 games. Let’s see if they have it in them to win Game 6.
