I feel for Knies and the 4th line who will be tied to this and catch shrapnel though. They’ve played their asses off. I truly never need or want to see this core again.

If you are Knies, do you want to stay here? With this loser core? If the core changes, maybe, if not, nope. Why waste your years here with no chance.

I'm so tired of the Matthews fans attacking Mitch, or the Mitch fans going after Nylander, or others going after Matthews, Rielly or Tavares.

IT. IS. ALL. OF. THEM.
They are ALL a problem. They fail in playoff elimination games every year and it is every single one of them.

There are some people here who will constantly prop up Nylander and minimize Marner every chance they get. And vice versa.

My biggest concern is I'm not sure Marner or Matthews can even be 3rd line player calibre in the playoffs playing with average 2nd line players on their line only. I am confident Nylander can though and has shown he can through his career.

Marner at least has had the clutch gene in junior and 4 nations.

Matthews is only going to get worse probably as it's likely his lingering injuries continue. I really think management should look to get rid of Matthews and use the money to build a more balanced team, and stop trading away the entire farm every year. But who am I kidding, nothing will change. The fans deserve it for always wanting to go for the unalive every year and never having had the patience for a proper rebuild.

That was as pitiful as it gets. Terrible performance from our best players. Coach needs to find a way to generate offence from the bottom six.. 1 goal in 5 games it's surprising they are leading 3-2. They need to change the bottom 6 to have a 3rd line that can generate offence... Especially if you can't play them in the D-zone.

McMann has been a complete disappointment, just non existent on the ice... If I was Toronto, I would try something along the lines off:

Knies - Matthews - Marner (lol)
McMann (lol) - JT - Nylander
Domi - Laughton - Robertson
Lorentz - Kampf - Patches..

Here are some interesting and extremely depressing stats I just compiled. In all the games of the Matthews era in which the Leafs have had the opportunity to put their opponent away, here is their performance outside of garbage time:

When losing by 1:

214:45 time spent, 6 GF, 14 GA, 1.67 GFA, 3.91 GAA

Pretty bad, right? Well, that's just because you haven't seen this:

When tied:

394:00 time spent, 6 GF, 19 GA, 0.91 GFA, 2.89 GAA.

Outscored OVER THREE TO ONE WHEN TIED!

Can it possibly get any worse than that? YES! IT CAN! You ain't seen nothing yet, brother...

When ahead by 1:

39:29 time spent, 0 GF, 6 GA, 0.00 GFA, 3.91 GAA,

That's right my friends, it has taken the Leafs just 39 total minutes to surrender the only six one-goal leads they have earned in 14 games.

I don't even remember leading for that long. I assume most of it is from the first game 7 vs Boston

Matthews pointed out they are still up and execution wasn't there.

Probably all true comments. But it's the reason those comments are true that is the real problem...

If that is as good as they can be, honestly, they don't deserve to win... and if the Sens find a way to lose, the Leafs are likely to get embarassed in round 2.

and behold
3-0 series lead is on the line

on top of:
- losing to zamboni driver
- 1st round exits
- Habs colour on CN tower
- I could go on and on and on and on....

It is becoming quite tiring to cheer for this team.

Not even half the emotion compared to the anger and frustration on the HF Leafs or on twitter right now; on the Leafs bench or on the ice gooning it the F up to set the tone for game 6

Last year was a hard fought series against a superior opponent. This, if it happens, would be a reverse sweep against the f***ing wildcard senators. Don't act like this would be just another lost series.

They lost 3-1 from a team that was a wild card team in covid.

And they lost in 5 to the jackets.

it’s inevitable. They can play the cup finalist lightning or a junior B team.

They will lose in game 7. Every year.

McMann is probably the most disappointing forward for me... His game with speed and physicality seemed ripe for a strong playoff performer, but he's been such a non-factor.

A shame because he was a valuable depth offense player in the season.
