I’m still kind of hesitant about moving Maroon.

Not because I think he’s going to turn it around, just that it might not be the best look for the organization.

But if that’s not a concern, I’ll happily take the third and wish Pat the best in Toronto
His contract had a full NTC until January 31, then a partial NTC. Maroon clearly accepted that a deadline trade was a possibility when he signed.

Meh, Maroon isn't good.
I'd rather just keep the 3rd and whatever forward they'd lose on waivers if they added him.

they wouldnt lose a forward. they would lose Holl, because there isnt a need for a #8dman that plays once every 2 months

We don't need a player or contract back. 3rd call it a day

leafs have like 10D in the AHL. they would probably wanna dump a guy.

surprised fellow leaf fans arent more interested moving a late 3rd for a 6'3 winger with an edge that is a significant upgrade in both size and skill (42pts and 43pts last 2 years) over what we have in the bottom 6

I suppose. We have some team toughness but no one to answer the bell. Kadri is one player who has taken on titans before regardless of his size. I think Muzzin is good for that too. But overall lacking. Hard to find someone who can actually play and answer the bell.

Muzzin, Kadri, Maroon. a lot more toughness than what they had 2 weeks ago (and all 3 can actually play, they arent Cody Mcleod type plodders)

Not that Marincin is worth particularly much but pass. Sounds like Ennis could be back soon and he has been terrific on the 4th line this year. We'll likely go into the playoffs with Ennis - Gauthier - Brown on the 4th.

I would deal you Maroon for any one of Marincin, Ozhiganov, Brown or Kapanen, straight up.
Add a 3rd and we will deliver him to your door, neatly wrapped and tied with a pretty pink ribbon.

ennis has had good stretches, but has also been invisible a lot. maroon has the same ppg this year (on a down year) and is 6 inches taller/50lbs heavier

id much prefer maroon on line 4 in the playoffs. 6'2 maroon, 6'5 gauthier then a forechecker like brown? sign me up

That's the thing we don't need a dump Dman. We need quality prospects. Maroon is getting that for us

Maroon may not be much but he's at least a NHL regular unlike Marincin. Butler would be a better option as an call up to replace an injured LHD. So unless there is a burning desire for another mediocre LHD in the AHL I don't see much interest in him. If the Blues drop out of the race between now and the deadline then something like a 3rd is fine for him. If they are still in the hunt at the deadline, why even bother moving NHL depth for such a mediocre return?

Meh. Maroon is getting 3rd line mins on the Blues. Hard to say how good he actually is.
Aka in a reduced role would he be still impactful enough? Doubt it.

I'd give the Blues their 4th back for Maroon and I'd trade Loverde over Marincin every day of the week. Seems like a good fit. If not the same offer for Colin Wilson of the Avs.
If we don't turn things around by the deadline you can have Wilson for a 4th. Would be a great playoff pickup. Tough guy, plays hard, and he isn't terrible.

TOR: Patrick Maroon
STL: 3rd rd pick, Martin Marincin

last year the oilers got a 3rd and filler prospect for Maroon, and he was having a much better season

Leafs upgrade the 4th line with a bit more size (Maroon-Gauthier-Brown), blues move on from a guy that just hasn't worked out after going home

might be a much cheaper alternative than paying what canes will want for ferland and maroon always plays well on new teams (8g/14pts in 16 games with edmonton and 3g/13pts in 17 games with NJ)

yay or nay?

Gardiner for dante fabbro and stl 1st 2nd 2019
The Blues 2019 1st is going to BUF.

Dante Fabbro isn't a Blues prospect.

If Fabbro was a Blues prospect, I wouldn't even consider moving him alone for Gardiner. If we still had our first, I wouldn't be moving our 1st & 2nd for Gardiner.

So... just not to Gardiner to St. Louis.

You’d have to talk to Nashville and Buffalo regarding Fabbro and the Blues first, respectively.

The Blues have Robby Fabbri and traded their protected first -it’s looking like the Blues will be in the playoff hunt and not picking top 10 in the draft- in the ROR deal.

It would be very hard on some of our fans who love their hometown kid. During his first year of wearing the Blue Note — Maroon wears the coveted #7, he does tv commercials, has had a Bobblehead night, and plays our Power Play. He would be sorely missed by a small subset of our fan base. I doubt our current management would trade him.
