It doesn't matter what fans think, it's not our job to weigh the pro's and con's of any contract or player. If my job was to run a team and build a competitive roaster you can bet your life that I would think very long and hard before tying up 40 million into 4 forwards and it would basically have to be a 110% sure bet, like 4 McDavids or something. Any 1 contract doesn't kill the team, it's the sum of them all that becomes impossible to overcome.

The thing is you can't predict how things turn out when you sign players. When Tavares first arrived here, he was killing it and Marner was on fire as well putting up 90+ pts. Everyone was loving them then and now when they're running into some rough patches we should completely turn our backs on them? Who's to say they won't turn things around be the players that we once loved?

I get that they're underperforming, but I don't think its time to blow everything up just yet.
