Dubas created this mess with poor cap allocation and has been forced to continually change the support pieces, cannot afford top goal tending and he paid this dysfunctional core and after continuing failure has refused to do anything about it.
These core players are paid top dollar and refuse to put in the effort so they need to be held accountable as well or shipped out

Why are we blaming the support pieces when they're far from being the biggest problem? On any team when your best players aren't showing up every night then you're chances of winning aren't going to be very good. Its hard to say the 3rd and 4th line guys are losing games for the Leafs and the defense that was pretty good last year is kinda off to a slow start this year. Its the top players outside of Nylander that are doing poorly to begin the season that is the biggest issue right now.
