When I look at Sandin I can't justify why Rielly would be worth 9 mil. Rielly seems to only have an edge on skating now and that's about it.

I'd take Rielly over Marner and Tavares. Rielly is a very good D man. I can't get why he gets no respect. And he's still got a better overall game than Sandin. Sandin is a better player from the blueline in.

Really liked Sandin that period. Even Liljegren. Solid pair. Hopefully the vets can take a page out of their book.

Liked the entire bottom 6 a lot. Top half of the lineup had an ok PP shift but brought nothing of substance as usual.

Sandin has a higher hockey IQ and that makes up for his speed
His positioning makes up for that

Cheer them on right now and the players would think they were being jeered.... they aren't dumb they know they aren't doing a good job.

Personally I want a change with this core because I don't see a winning formula... the faster we make a move the faster I think we get to correcting the problem. See Boston trading Thornton.

Rielly gets no respect, and I am guilty of it as well, because he lacks a decent slapper and isn't mean. That is the stereotypical perfect d-man that everyone wants, a big powerful guy who breaks bones with hits and shots. It's hard to argue the Leafs couldn't use a guy like that either.
