It's really difficult to isolate what parts of the game Jake Muzzin is good at. Offense? Stick work? Board work? Hits?

He's really not exceptional at any of these things. But I really think the thing that separates Muzzin from his competition is the knowledge that his balls are utterly gigantic. Dude is injured, and he still out-waits and out-nerves the opposing PP to get the clear.

Muzzin should have the C, frankly.

Structurally, this is as sound as I've seen the Leafs play in a really long time. Even when hemmed in their zone, intelligent smart play seems to be the order of the day. I'm afraid to say it, but my confidence in this team is continuing to grow.
