I agree with others. The Leafs need to just focus on winning. They can worry about their matchup when the playoffs start and they've won the division.

I have a funny feeling that Ottawa would beat Tampa, so if Toronto takes care of business in round 2 against Florida they could have their Battle of Ontario in round 2 (if Ottawa were to pass Florida.)

Beat everybody. This losing to play a certain team is silly. These guys need to start winning things that are meaningful and to me it starts with division champs (in a real season). After that beat everybody that comes their way. Do nothing but win.
I agree. Regardless they will have to beat Florida and or Tampa along the way.

I'm with you. A win tonight is huge, these are statement games.

Only 6 games remaining and will be playing for keeps in two weeks time.
This is where we need to see our core finally rise up and carry the team to a championship.
Noone league wide really believes they can do that and lets be honest, most of our fanbase doesn't either, so this group needs to go out and take it.
Our desperation and intensity needs to higher than any team we come up against.
I dont think Florida is messing around trying to intentionally set up a matchup against us but regardless, go into their building tonight. lay a beatdown and send a message that this year is different.

Winning the division is big, who cares who we face. That is a confidence boost alone because we have never done it and never been a clear favorite in recent memory (Habs series Matthews was 22...). These guys are in their primes now, clearly established, with a vet supporting cast and a vet coach who has a cup, with the most leadership on the bench ever.

This is it. This is the year. We are better than everyone else in our division. I hope each one of them doesn't take us seriously and I hope the Panthers actually tank to face us

I even wore my Leafs jersey to a home game, and they won... that's never happened before. Hell, if I wear it at home before this year, they've never won.. but it's happened several times this year. The curse is lifted!!

The same final score, in our favour, as the last game would be nice.
I hope this game is as good or better than their last meet up, I missed that due to having no power, they better not lay a egg tonight. Imo, tanking for any reason is unacceptable in professional sports especially with the amount of betting that goes on these days………

At some point Florida is going to end their losing streak, but I'm not sure this will be the game. I could see Florida losing this one in OT, and then winning a few games after that to break their slump.

Tommorow's game vs Tampa should be better, especially if Leafs lose in regulation tonight.

Barkov, Forsling and Reinhart due back to tonight.

Florida's still missing Tkachuk, Ekblad & Bennett (and a few others I believe) but with their 1C back and a very good d-man this should still be a tough game.

So we really can’t recall anyone? The whole roster will have to travel and play in Carolina on Sunday at 5pm on a back-to-back? That would be brutal.
They play Sunday at 5? Has the NHL never heard of The Masters?

Nothing is in the bag yet. We haven't won the division and we could slip a wild card spot if the team doesn't play well.

We should try to win every game, just try not to get injured.

Come on, the Leafs are not going to fall to a wild card spot. I get being antsy about Tampa (even though I don't think there is any reason to worry), but a wild card spot? Not a chance.
