Do you want to develop players or win? Knies with Kampf and Domi has played well and Jarnkrok has looked good beside Marner and Matthews.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

In all seriousness, properly developing players goes hand in hand with winning. You can't do one without the other. Knies is already good enough for a bigger role, he's just being arbitrarily held down
