My guess is that it's MSLE wanting to make the playoffs ASAP, meaning they wanted Burke to get Luongo .. Burke however didn't want to pay the price Gillis wanted and pull the trigger on the trade .. Ergo, Bruke gets fired and MLSE will bring in someone who will make the deal.

Meaning .. Hello Luongo, goodbye prospects and future built up by Burke Is this the JFJ era all over again?

Kessel and Phaneuf could very well be out the door now. There will be takers on Kessel and Phaneuf no doubt, especially for this season when tons of teams have extra cap space.

I like Phaneuf and would be upset to see him go. But we do have 1, maybe 2, possible future replacements?

No replacements for Kessel though. If he gets traded it's solely for the future via a rebuild I think.

Even if we go on a true rebuild it won't guarantee us a winner, freaking crosby has ruined this idea for us lol. If we are lucky to get a guy like AA then yea I am good but there aren't many aside from Dave Tallon in Florida who knows this.
