Sharpe is one of the top defensive prospects in his age group and should be an interesting prospect to follow going forward.

Has a rather small role for Lethbridge this season but they just traded overager defenseman Pauls so Sharpe might get an extended role soon. Has certainly earned it. Mostly rock solid, not playing like a rookie. Also has pretty much NHL size already, probably around 200lbs but he's an amazing skater for his weight class.

Also proved he can really shoot the puck when scoring his first two WHL goals last game:

At least Arntsen will be gone next season, maybe McCutcheon as well so Sharpe (together with Doyle and Chadwick) will likely be Lethbridge's go to defensemen next season which is gonna be Sharpe's draft season. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being one of the top defenders of his draft class because I think there's untapped offensive potential.

Doesn't seem to get noticed by fans or media but I'm pretty confident NHL scouts are watching this kid closely. He's slightly smaller but reminds me of Sam Dickinson quite a bit. Not overly flashy but just so good in all areas of the game and terribly efficient in everything he does playing in all situations. Has 6 points in 7 games and a bigger role with the Hurricanes this season. He's also a big reason why they're the nr.2 in the WHL right now by point percentage. He's a 1st rounder in my book for sure.

Has 19 points on the season and, to my knowledge, is the highest scoring 2025 draft prospect among CHL defensemen. Not bad for a kid mature beyond his years and rock solid against the puck. On his team, only the topline of Edwards, Marques and Wormald (28 each) has more points and Leafs 2023 pick Noah Chadwick has "just" 16.

Yet there's almost no talk about him and he still seems to be flying under the radar. Surprising. I'm literally the only person posting in this thread for almost two years now and he seems to get ignored on most draft lists out there as well. Surprising. Not sure what's going on but nobody seems to care about him. I'm pretty sure NHL teams do though. Criminally underrated prospect:laugh:

His production is indeed impressive. Could you please tell us more about his game, play style, strengths/weaknesses, and his projection?

Cause I'll be honest, I just watched all of his shifts from a recent game, and I can't even tell what type of defender he is. He shown some decent physical play in his own zone with good stick work, but he was also very passive/late on many plays including in front of his net and off the rush, and caused two mistakes that lead to goals against his team. He carried the puck a few times deep in the OZ, but did not show any sign of creativity or great skating, although he seems to have a very good shot from the point. He shown signs of good anticipation, but also seemed lost on many plays. Do you have similar observations or was it just a bad game?

I know it's only one game and I'll have to watch him more, but I ended up having way more questions than answers after that viewing, more than I usually do after watching isolated shifts of a B/C-rated prospect for the first time. I even went back and watched all of his points this year, and I must say I was unfortunately not impressed by many of them (most of his points seem to come from his shot on the PP or from secondary assists where he is not really involved in the play).

Does he project as a 6'1" physical bottom-pair dman or there's more?

That doesn't sound like Will Sharpe at all. He's Mr.Consistency, never taking a shift off, rock solid against the puck and mature beyond his years. He's a puck moving two way defenseman with excellent hands. Does have a very good shot he doesn't use often enough. Excellent skater for his size. Not overly creative, probably lacking elite vision. He still could have another gear offensively though. I wouldn't bet against it but he's definitely more of a conservative, defensive minded defenseman though not physical enough for my liking. If he could add that additionial dimension to his game that would him an even more interesting prospect.

Thank you. I'll keep an eye on him, I usually like this type of player. I guess it was just a bad game, or I needed more coffee. That happens.

Why didn’t he make CHL top prospects team?
Just lots of disrespect for this kid. I don't get it. Some people may think it's luck but you don't outscore an elite and dynamic defenseman like Noah Chadwick just by being lucky. Sharpe is just a very polished player getting all the details right which is why he's logging big minutes and scoring lots of points for Lethbridge. Also, 11 months ago, when he wasn't scoring much, I actually wrote in this thread that Sharpe has untapped offensive potential. He's a legit prospect.
