"Cibulka is an extremely mobile puck-rushing offensive defenseman who showed an excitement to beat the forecheck by foot and lead the restart of the attack. He put on a skating clinic on breakouts, displaying the ability to stop on a dime, execute brisk turns smoothly and accelerate quickly. He escaped pressure and found skating lanes up the ice effortlessly thanks to his splendid foot speed and agility. Cibulka showcased the quickness and velocity to arrive first on loose pucks, but he could lack the awareness to rapidly locate his outlets. Often playing with a sense of urgency, he instantly tried to beat his rivals by foot instead of moving the puck to his open partner. He pushed the pace in transition with stretch passes, and even jumped ahead (off-puck activation) when the opportunity occurred. Cibulka was bold enough to try creative plays, use shoulder fakes, and even attempt to dictate the action from the point. Although his impact was turbulent, his attempt to quarterback the action was promising, notably revealing a decent lateral mobility. Cibulka could get caught slightly too high on transitions defence, and didn’t have enough explosively on his pivot to catch attackers sneaking behind. He exhibited a decent gap control and backward fluidity in 1-on-1 rush defence, but he lacked the strength to knock enemies off the puck or push them outside. He was agitated in his own zone, quick to put pressure on his man and battle with his opponents. His positioning and effectiveness left to be desired though. Cibulka’s mobility and confidence with the puck are exciting, but I’d like to see him improve his poise, decision-making and strength in board battles. He could be a late-round option if he shows progression in those aspects."

He's been pretty meh in the q which I feel scouts already view as the weaker Major Junior league.

On a bit of an upswing recently though. Maybe he parlays his World Juniors performance into a draft pick.

I think he should get drafted in second go. However, wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't. He definitely didn't look out of place playing against all the US or Canuck drafted players.

1+2 today for Budejovice, starting to get interesting in the ELH, 21 games and 8 points (4+4) so far, getting around 20mins a game, clearly being one of the key defensemen in Motor right now.

Certainly good news towards NT in the future.

I keep hoping he makes it back to NHL. I really liked his game. Unlikely but he has a nice toolbox.

I'll add:
6 points in the last 5 games, 4 goals in the last 8 games (Extraliga).
Last season: Tichacek, this season Cibulka?

Its nice we have two young productive defenders right now in ELH it seems.

Even Tichacek is still good, I mean on the one hand you say that 24 games 11 points is a step down, but defenders overall are not very productive this year in ELH. Tichacek is still 8th in Ds scoring.
