Was very impressed by him in the NE/Michigan gameeasily the best player on the ice, he skated circular faster than some players skating forward, it’s jist ridiculous
Won’t hesitate to take him 5th or 6th overall

He's been a clear number 2 for me for a while, no one else is really close, especially not any forwards. It would take a legendary U-18 for Boqvist or Svechnikov to have a chance overtake him, and even then probably not.

Is he generally considered the most elite skater/top IQ in this draft? Seem like his size, shot, and defending have him just outside the top 5 on most rankings.

Dahlin still has the higher hockey-IQ. I'd argue Svechnikov and Zadina are also up there, as there positioning and ability to find soft spots on the D is quite elite. Now, Hughes has the better vision than all of them arguably.

A bit off-topic, but what about the third Hughes? Luke Hughes.

I know he is the youngest (2 years younger than Jack)
but boy is he super tiny&feather weight; 5 foot 2, 90 pounds (from eliteprospects)
- can those measurements be correct thou?

He plays defense for Little Caesars Bantam - Major AAA

If Jack,or Quinton happen to find themselves here (somehow) :)
how is he? any good at hockey?.

It's super early, but the Hughes' say he's the best skater of the bunch (that might be a family assessment not a scout's). And no way he's 5' 2''. There was a pic with the 3 brothers and he looked on par with Jack and Quinn. prob 5'10''

according to reports, Luke is the best skater of the bunch, at least compared at this stage as his brothers...so yeah, hold your breath this could get interesting real fast with this kid lol!!

the weight is definitely wrong as is the height, he isn't 5'2 90lbs...

I saw one report that stated Luke was better than his brother Quinn was at the same age. It's still a little early to project anything for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he followed in his two brothers footsteps and played here for the NTDP, though.

Jack, Quinn, and Luke

If Hughes gets passed by, he is the perfect example why frumpy guys have something to say in the NHL.

"Undersized D can't handle NHL forwards."

Duhhhhh.
