Really fun and creative defenseman. Great set of hands. Goes a little too crazy at times (coaches will hate him), but there's some potential here. 4 points in his first 3 games of the year.

Watched him recently. I'm skeptical of his potential. Size isn't great, skating isn't a huge strength, although he can change directions decently well. He's a slightly below average backwards skater, and his top speed is not great. He has good retrievals in the corners though, and thinks out of retrieval situations okay at this level. Challenges attackers but can be beat wide. He does have good hands, but often will just lose the puck trying to outdangle everyone. Not the best playmaker.

If you get him in the later rounds, he improves his feet a ton, he cleans up the messy turnovers, then maybe there's something there.

5+8 in 36 games, not bad for a 20 year old defenseman in the KHL. I'm pretty sure some NHL team will pick him at the draft. Maybe even as soon as in the 3rd round.

Excerpt from a scouting report from Dylan Griffing of EP:

He brings in possession control skills when he gets the puck in high pressure situations, blending handling skill with effective shielding to maintain control of the puck through contact and earn chances to make important plays for his team. He adapted as the game went on from being a pure breakout starter to leading the charge on his own, skating into the offensive zone to create two major chances for Lada in the third period. That included a sweet dangle to beat a defender to the middle and get a backhand scoring chance. The sense still wavers, especially when the Omsk forecheck closed in and he failed to stay composed and make proper reads. Looks like a potential mid-round pick, even as a double overager.

Seems like a compelling option as a 3rd rounder, with him having so much development already completed. Could see NHL time after 2 more seasons, as opposed to the normal 3-4 for a mid-round dman.
