LD Luke Hughes (2021, 4th, NJD)

If we're being honest with ourselves, the Hughes kids have not exactly been known for their humble, down to Earth attitudes. They've always been cocky jock types. Sounds like Luke takes after his brothers. Not a shocker. He'll grow up with time.

It would have to be something especially bad for this to be remarkable. I feel like it goes unsaid, but a lot of these kids are not the most pleasant to start with. They're immature, cocky, and think they're surefire millionaires in the making. They get better with time and adversity. Luke probably will too.
What is this nonsense? Quinn has not been a “cocky jock type” at all. Did you just pull this garbage out of your backside???

A defenseman from the US program with size, can skate, is quite smart, puts pucks to the net... I think he's a good candidate for Ducks to pick at #3.

She was clueless then. I suspect she remains clueless now.

I swear it feels like the college boom has resulted in an exponential increase in garbage journalists/analysts across all sports (and other industries too).

She is a hack.

She also claimed the other day that Elias Pettersson wasn’t actually injured this season but that his relationship with the Canucks is so bad that he refused to play. She then claimed that the Sedins were being brought in as an attempt to mend the relationship between EP and the Canucks.

So yeah I think she’s just making shit up at this point.

They need a true winger for Zegras and I expect them to try and get him one. They just took an offensive minded dman last year, albeit RH. They scored the least amount of goals in the NHL.

i have them taking Guenther

Edit: though if they do target a defenseman I expect it to be Edvinsson; bigger, defensively strong, and skates well

You definitely know more than fans of the actual team of what we need.

So fans of teams are never wrong when it comes to personnel choices?

highly doubt it. Its an opinion, we will find out whos right in a month and a half

and for the record, Anaheim needs both lmfao.
They aren't going to take Guenther, bookmark this when you're wrong.

I really want Hughes on the Devils but if the Ducks take him I am more than fine with Clarke.
Buffalo and Seattle go Benier and Power ( not sure what order). The Ducks scare me as they just took a RHD so they probably will not go Clarke.
I have to hope they go forward or Edvidsson.
Do you think Fitz would offer anything to the Ducks to not take Hughes?
If its not too bad of a payment I hope they do it but I cannot see the Devils giving up any premium assets as they can just take Clarke.

I don't think they'd be willing to give Anaheim anything, if the Ducks take Hughes, they'll grab Clarke or someone else and be happy to have them

Not saying the Devils won’t pick Hughes, but I find it amusing how on HF it’s apparently every team and player’s dream to play with their siblings.

Maybe later in their careers that’s the case. But I’m sure there are plenty of guys that want to become the face of their own franchise, rather than be in the shadow of their brother.

At this point, I'm going to laugh so hard if Hughes is available and the Devils go with someone else. Their fans seem to think its a forgone conclusion that their scouting department has him in the top 5, when really, team's lists rarely look like the projected draft order.

They could very well view Clarke as the top talent in the draft, and would they really pass on that just to grab a brother they rank lower?
