Brother of Jordan Greenway.

James was 6'4 at 15. Big guys.

Elite lists Jordan at 6'5" 223. Wow. James isnt small either at 6'4" 205. Both may still grow. Thats scary. Solid resumes... SSM, NTDP, U17.

I have not had the pleasure of watching either Jordan or James play live or online yet. What kind of players are these guys, and where will they be selected in their respective drafts? I believe Jordan is ranked around 15-20 this year, but haven't heard anything about James.

Both of these guys are physical monsters.

He's very raw...has the mobility, size, reach and offensive instincts to develop into something more than a support guy, but NTDP defensemen have a tough time showcasing what they can truly do since there are over a dozen puck wizards up front.

He has some pre-injury Marc Staal in him in terms of offense. He can create plays off the rush but what he does thereafter is the issue. He's decent positionally, using an active stick and does well with his pin/holds. Pinches are hit or miss, but then again, all non-elite draft-eligible dmen seem to have that issue.

He's been falling in our rankings but completely understand if teams want to take a gamble on him in the middle rounds.

Did anyone see his goal vs Sweden? Didn't look at all like a defensive defensemen there.

Looks like he's going to the USHL. What are the thoughts on his potential now?

Really a bizarre decision. His odds of an NHL future were already slim. Not sure why he wouldn’t just keep the scholarship to get an education.

Was his departure from the team due to scholastic reasons? I'm curious if there is any scoop on why he left the Badgers.

He missed the a large chunk of the beginning of the season due the personal reasons which were not released.

He's likely going to play in the USHL for a year so that he can transfer to another college in the NCAA the following year.

He's an interesting prospect still as he had a strong rookie season but it appears something is going on in his personal life that is having a negative effect.

Granato said his issues were at least partially academic, which makes me think trying the NCAA route again is a questionable decision.

Looks like it was at least partially academic reasons. Which makes you wonder why he didn’t choose the CHL route. Overage USHL season seems very questionable
I think is OHL rights are still owned by Flint (he was drafted by Plymouth before the team relocated). Maybe he didn't want to play for that troubled franchise.

Is it really that hard for an overage player to get traded to a team he is willing to play for in the OHL?

Must not have liked the changes in Flint.

I'm scratching my head on that one as well. If it's academic, taking the 1-year USHL route and then transferring back into an NCAA program is going to do what exactly? Maybe he's thinking he needs the reps and a season getting lots of ToI in the USHL will get his development back on track? If he goes there and plays well, it likely makes it easier to assess his progress and still holds the option for NCAA status.

Agreed. It wouldn't be the first time an OA puts their hand up and certain teams take the opportunity to trade for a guy's rights. If someone had said the Knights had thrown a few picks Flint's way for his rights, would anyone be surprised? Probably not.
