I thought he already had a thread. He has considerable hype. I've seen him in some early first round projections for 2025. He's a good player, but I didn't agree with those projections.

He's a 5'10 defenseman that is kind of passable in most parts of the game. There's not a big hole other than his height. If he ends up 5'11 or 6'0 before the 2025 draft, thats not as big of a hole either. 5'10 isn't that short, but for a player who has no clear role in the NHL, it will probably keep him from being an early round pick. I would say he's trending towards like 5th round at this point. Could get better or worse depending on how he progresses between now and his draft.

Committed to Michigan. I'm sure he'll be a good college hockey player at the very least.

He was dominant in Wisconsin HS before jumping up to the junior level with the NTDP, where he was solid in his 16 year old season. Expecting big things from him in his DY.

His dad Harold Schock was teammates with John Madden and Brendan Morrison on the 1996 Michigan National Championship team.

He's looked better to me this season than last. Has passed Bracco. He was crazy overrated at the start of last season because he scored big at one international tournament and then people started to see that wasn't him.

I don't know if there's an NHL there. He's kind of just very meh at everything, but he's been more impactful in every zone this year, and maybe isn't undersized anymore. Think he has a draftable range, even if only rounds 5-7.

Has had a good U18 Worlds so far. He’s went from crazy overrated last season to now underrated this season. He’s gotten a little better at everything.

NHLCS has him at 5’11.25, while NTDP lists him at 6’0. Goes without saying, but which is the truth and what NHL teams think of his size for the pro game will be key because he doesn’t have the natural ability for that to be a clear weakness.

2nd or 3rd round grade for you?

This was last month.

I think it's not unfair to think that maybe if you really like him you could stretch that to round 3 or 4. There are examples of unheralded NTDP blue liners going higher than expected.

But if he's really 5'11, is he for sure a draft pick? The trend would say no.

So I'm a little cautious. He's had a good season. I'd probably still say at best round 4-7. I don't think he's any better than that unless he hits the combine and measures in at like 6'1 or 6'2.
