Having a monster season in the CSSHL and has already played 5 games in the WHL, 2 assists.
18 goals and about 50 points in 24 games for the u17 Prep team

Been playing for the Pilot Mound Academy since 2021, so at very young age.

Should be a legit 1st rounder in 2026

Spending time this week looking at some of the youngsters getting ready to make the full-time jump to the WHL, and one of the most impressive kids, has been Carson Carels. Prince George’s 1st Rounder (15OA) from the 2023 Draft.

Here’s a kid people might wanna keep an eye on. Looks to have a really bright future with Prince George. In fact, think the WHL was planning to do a write-up about him this week.

Played a handful of WHL games last year and didn’t look out of place often. Not an easy thing to do as a 15 year old dman.

With some of their blue line questions, looks like he has a real good shot at playing quite a bit. It’ll be interesting where he’s at come Xmas time, but I’d expect by the end of the year, he’ll start getting a fair deal of press from the hockey media. He’s not the biggest kid at 6’, but he’s just turned 16, so he has some time go gain the core strength he’ll need. A couple of inches wouldn’t hurt either.

Reads the ice really well and pushes pace with his speed. Like he really pushes pace, and he’s not afraid to take the puck end to end. He also “thinks the game” at a pretty high level. Which is becoming more and more important to translate to the pro game. In fact, a lot of teams and scouts are looking at that aspect of a dman’s game, much more than they used to. Just the way the game has evolved.

Hate putting pressure on a 16 year old, but he’s got a bright future, and he’s in a good situation in PG to allow him to play to his strengths, and them not trying to mold him into something he’s not.

He’s gonna get the fans out of their seats.
