The penalty was for interference, so the argument was that DeBrincat didn't touch the puck, not that the hit was dirty. For a tiny guy, DeBrincat has got to be more aware than that coming out of the corner IMO - Borgman is a tank, but there's a lot of defenders that would lay that hit in the same situation, DeBrincat put it on a tee. Maybe he really didn't touch the puck so he wasn't expecting contact as a result, still though you'd hope that he'd be more aware

I was pissed when they called that, especially when it was the back ref. It was a close game in the third and Debrincat appeared to touch the puck. I've seen Byfuglien get called multiple times for being stronger than the opponent, I doubt this is the last penalty Borgman receives for it. He's a strong kid and physical. Debrincat didn't stand a chance at his size and he's lucky he didnt get concussed.
