Way I look at Crouse is look at Tom Wilson, he just seems to be finding his groove at 24. "Power Forwards" generally take longer to develop, even long then defensemen. I do believe Crouse has much better offensive upside then Wilson although not as much an agitator

I think this is why they freed up a roster spot for him.

Yeah good god no from the Rangers perspective as well. 2 1st rounders, Zuccarello at 50% retention and 2 2nd rounders for the 5th overall and Crouse is a HORRIBLE deal for the Rangers.

Ya, I made more than a few comments suggesting Arizona might be willing to deal their pick, or move down. But that idea has to be dead in the water now. Chayka isn't trading that pick.

Edit: More on topic, he isn't trading Crouse, either. That power forward type is something Arizona needs, and there's no reason to liquidate the guy now that he's showing promise.

At this point Crouse doesn't have a lot of value. You'd probably pay a bit more than he's worth because you'd be high on him growing into something more than he is atm but it wouldn't be anything crazy.

There's really no room for Skjei on a blueline that already has LHDs like OEL, Hjalmarsson, Chychrun, and Goligoski. And Chayka effectively ruled out trading the 5th OA outright for NHL players this year.

Both can play RD, but the only natural RHD on the roster is Demers. And Chayka/Tocchet have talked about the need for more "balance" in the lineup in terms of handedness.

Even if I agree to gut our RD as a short term measure, Shatty is not available, and we would not agree on DeAngelo, who if all other things are =, is more likely best for NY to continue to have his def develop. Then keep or flip for better value later.
Pionk has emerged, but I don't see a fit on what you have to offer and what we would want.

Pionk + is a discussion for EDM 10OA.
5th is too much for AZ, and not sure what we could add, other than Buchnevich and a 2nd, if I haven't moved him already.
