Utica played a much better game, but KK was up to the task in net & Laval was opportunistic.

They got the 2 pts they needed.

Laval ties Marlies at 31 pts for the 5th and final playoff spot, but Toronto has a game in hand so they stay ahead. They're also playing now (tied 2-2 after 2 vs. Crunch).

They are 3 pts behind Rochester, who sit 4th with a game in hand. And Belleville just won, so Laval is 5 pts behind them and 3rd place. Sens have a game in hand, as well.

Laval also moves 5 pts ahead of Utica. But Utica still has 3 games in hand. They play again in Laval on Wednesday.

If Laval beats Utica again on Wednesday in regulation, they will move 7 pts ahead of them, in which case, even if Utica wins their 3 games in hand, they will still remain behind Laval.

If Laval beats them in OT/SO, Rocket will more 6 pts ahead of them.

Houle said they would struggle early with all the young players

I'll give Maillet credit, he's been producing. But I really wish Laval would have kept Richard and Belzile particularly instead of signing Maillet and Andersson.

And I wish they would have kept Abbandonato and Dube. But I understand in Dube's case, they weren't willing to offer an NHL contract, let alone a 2-year deal the way Caps did.

With the influx of young guys, I think it would have been wiser to ensure to hold onto guys who knew what it was like to be a pro here and understand the Laval Rocket culture instead of not only bringing in all the young rookies, but also bringing in new vets who don't know what the system is.

You see the benefit of having someone like Gignac here. Imagive still have two or three of Richard, Belzile, Abbandonato, and Dube still here.

They need to open the throttle, go flat out, put the pedal to the metal, not look back:):),

Farrell, Bourque, and Keeper didn't finish the game. We'll see if any of them are good to go for Wednesday. Or if they'll be out.

In Keeper's case, they still have Galipeau and Beaudin as options to replace him.

At forward, they'll surely call up guys like Yaremko and Novak most likely.

Bring in Florian from the OHL 😉
