Laval Rocket: Laval Rocket at Charlotte Checkers 7:00 pm RDS/Flo

Any exciting players/prospects expected to join Laval next year?

Beck has been by far the best overall, so maybe he gets a role on the 4th line C if we give Evans the 3rd line job in replacement of Dvorak.

Reinbacher has been good, but he still need more hockey IMHO

RHP once upon a time was thought to be a future NHLer. He won't get qualified because of his current salary.
He was playing pretty well that year. Never had any margin for error so one injury takes its toll and now he's not a NHLer anymore.

Nothing from the vets. RHP never scratched. ABB used too much. Wayyy too late going back to Fowler.
Yup, Vincent can now go elsewhere for all I care. Read somewhere that he might be back in the NHL as assistant coach... His overuses of his AHL veterans and his mismanagement of the goalies was his downfall.

4-0 is seriously brutal... they just hit a wall.

Oh dear!! Hayes messed that one up. Not sure why the announcer blamed Fowler right off the bat. Fowler was going where it looked like the puck was going.
A slow defence kills you every time. #65 has Rick Green quickness. Only saw the third period, but aside from Engstrom, we were caught slow on defence. Also, we seem to have lost every battle for the puck. Laval was just outmatched. Good season otherwise. But the alleged depth in this organization was exposed. For that reason, the Canadiens must retain their two first round picks in the very underrated upcoming draft and continue their re-building process.

Don't let this series obfuscate how great of a season Laval had. They had quite a run and stumbled only when they faced a team that matched-up very well against them. A lot to be proud of. I know it stings, and I'm sure a we will have our fun pointing out what went wrong and whom to blame in the coming moments, but let's keep in mind all the success that preceded this series. The future is very bright imo. It feels like the org as a whole is on the right path and the 2025 edition of the Rocket is one of many testaments to that.

Insane shooting % that year but simply not big enough to play the game he wants to play at the nhl level. He was getting crushed. His skating is also not there for a smaller guy

Just came back from a meeting....so....great for experience. But thank god it's done. There's a limit to what a team can do without players and as young as they are. Good year.

But guys....EVERYBODY in there is either gone (let go), traded or STILL in Laval. Nobody in there is Habs material next year. I just don't see it. And that's just my opinion.
We'll see. Some will put the work in this summer and show improvement at camp. We should benefit from some organic development from players getting stronger physically, being more experiences and more polished skills and timing. Kapanen, Beck, Reinbacher and Mailloux are getting closer.

We can't judge a highly successful season based on one series where they were short staffed and overmatched.

There were some in here saying he should start over Monty in the 1st round vs Washington when he signed out the NCAA.
Yes this board is ridiculous and overly negative with Monty for many reasons.
I have not seen anyone imply that Fowler is on Price's level.
I have, but even so, im mostly talking about how hes penciled in as the de facto starter for us in 2026. Hes not that. He was a 3rd rounder.
Calm down. Fowler's is a 20 yr old goalie in in his first 10 AHL games!
And Dobes is 23 and I believe he has a better future.

Unlikely any of our prospects can make an impact on the Habs. At best, they will be call ups.

ALL OF THEM need to improve some aspect of their game.

By Xmas or February? Maybe we see M, Rein, Lx, Beck and Kap. But no sure fire, ready to graduate prospect.

Time will tell!
