They're tripling Bellevilles shots. They wasted 2 4 minute power plays. Just gave up a shortie. And they're losing 3-1.
It's truly incredible that this coaching staff is still employed.

Just tuned in and am seeing Laval leading it in shots 41-15. But losing 1-3, with 12:51 to go in the 3rd!

What was it — facing a hot goalie, poor quality shots/ execution or both?

Poor quality shots. It's shear volume with very few dangerous chances. They've probably wasted 12 minutes of PP with nothing to show. They're going to hit 50 shots and lose this game.

3rd goal post. I'll say it again. This organization and posts.

I think Habs future is in the junior not in AHL. That is one crappy lineup. And looks like the prized Barron is going to stay there too. Should have gotten more for Lekhs.
He is generating offence at least. I think he'll get a look.

This team is just brutal. Forget about 99% of these guys making the NHL.
I have a difficult time finding points of interest on this team. Most of these guys just don’t stand out to me.

I’m all for the development of minor league talent and if it means that it’s going on elsewhere than in Laval, I’m good with that since eventually, some of that talent will find its way to the Rocket. Just not now.

However, developing a winning culture is also important and I’m wondering how they are going to do that with this roster and also, how much of the results so far should be imputed to the coaching staff.

Thats a 20 men roster, mathematically if one of them makes the team, thats 5%, if 2 makes the team thats 10%, if 3 makes the team thats 15%. I think RHP has a legit shot at making our 4th line next year, Ylonen should get an opportunity to crack the team as well, his lack of consistency is concerning, but his tools are too good to let him go without knowing what he would do with more talented players and there is Barron who might end up cracking the team at some point. The farm is awful as a whole, but we still have some guys who could end up having a decent NHL carreer.

I have doubts any current forward makes it. RHP has done nothing this year compared to his previous season. I once thought he was a more talented Gallagher, but ive since changed my mind. Ylonen is just too inconsistent. He won't deserve a call up. The only forward deserving a shot is Richard and he's a vet.

The goalie was brought in say half way through the previous game and made some huge saves, was named 2nd star of the game so looks like he carried that over this this game (didn't get to watch yet)

This team is just brutal. Forget about 99% of these guys making the NHL.

While the team sucks as a whole, there are still good things when you look at it individually. Similar to the Habs last year who sucked, but you still had bright spots from certain guys.

The ones who truly matter in Laval are Ylonen, RHP, Simoneau, Mysak, Barron & Norlinder. And you can add Beaudin as he's still young even if this is his 4th season as a pro.

Now, neither of them are game breakers or world beaters. But those guys are in Montreal and not in Laval. So these guys will either have a middle/bottom-6 role or be 2nd/3rd pairing. You might be right that these guys might not become full-time NHL'ers and remain AHL lifers. But they do have certain attributes that can lend themselves to the big league.

- RHP isn't producing the way he did last year. But he's definitely someone who can play a depth role in Montreal.

- Ylonen is actually on pace for a career year. And if you look at his game-by-game logs, he's producing pretty consistently. He also showed us last year in his short stint in the NHL that he's got the tools to become a full-time NHL'er.

- Simoneau is 3rd in scoring among rookies in the league so far. He's tied in points with the first two at 16 pts, but they played less games. Nevertheless, the kid is skilled, can skate, and has a relentless motor that can be successful in the NHL.

- Mysak isn't producing, but it doesn't help when your coach has made his mind up that you won't be an offensive player. Despite that, he does have qualities that lend themselves to the NHL.

- Barron started the season iffy, but since then, he's become Laval's best D. He's 12th in scoring among D in the AHL right now. And like Ylonen, Barron is also on pace for a career year. We know this guy is going to be an NHL'er.

- Norlinder might not end up being what we thought he would be. But I still feel like the kid has upside. And I feel his overall game has improved the more he plays.

Everyone else to me doesn't matter.

I love the optimism and I don't want guys to fail, but I'm just not feeling it. Ylonen is pretty much the same player he's always been. He might be on pace for a few more points, but his game hasn't improved. He does 1 or 2 good things in a game, then disappears for 3. Maybe he'd be better playing with nhl players?
RHP in my opinion has regressed.
I love Simoneau, but another small guy on the Habs?
Mysak, I'm not convinced he's talented enough, but I agree, playing on the 4th line isn't helping.
Barron will get an opportunity.
Norlinder I think ends up back in Europe. He offers nothing more than Leskinen.
