Edmonton
What would be the cost to acquire the following players from Philly?

Scott Laughton (30, $3 Million AAV X 2), left winger who PKs well. Smaller forward who plays bigger than his size. Feisty.

Nicolas Deslauriers, (33, $1.75 Million AAV X2) Big, physical LW who is a fighter but who can also PK.

I would also like to see the Oilers try and acquire Jamie Drysdale but that is a tougher ask.

Edmonton has a lousy PK this year and it is hurting them. It's early yet, true, but still...

Some $$$ has to be traded back to the Flyers to keep the Oilers cap compliant. Edmonton look to go for it again this year in spite of a brutal start, so all futures should be on the table.

Laughton had demands for a 1st, correct? I don't think he's that good, but it may be the cost. Cap has to go back like you said, so philly doesn't really need to demand less than a high 2nd i would think.

De Lo is not the guy to help save a PK, or any kind of on ice duty except fighting, and hitting. Good guy, tries hard, but he's a tough guy, that's about it.

Laughton is not a "smaller forward". Your description of him makes me wonder if you are mixing him up with Konecny, though, of course he brings more to the table.

Deslauriers is, and I need you to hear this clearly, the worst player in the NHL. He moves like a beer leaguer and contributes nothing. He isn't even fast enough to hit his target 90% of the time. He is not good enough to play NHL minutes, which is why he gets about 6 a night when he gets into a game. Having Nic Deslauriers in your lineup is choosing to make your team worse for no real reason.

I want Laughton so he can be a mentor for Sam O'Reilly. I've heard he's a glue guy, too and we kinda moved a few of those guys over the summer.

OP you want to ask for Laughton and Hathaway not Deslauriers

Exactly. Unfotunately, those are untradeable gold to a smart, progressive franchise like the Philadelphia Flyers.

Expert professional hockey GM Daniel "Danny" Briere was wise enough to extend Hathaway a full year before his current contract expired, a savvy decision to lock an elite elbower up through his 34- and 35-year-old seasons at only a modest cap hit increase. Safe to say you'd need to seriously overpay if you wanted a player like old Garnet at such a bargain during his "fine wine" years!

Laughton meanwhile is the anointed grinder, one of the grittiest, gluiest veterans to ever bless an NHL locker room with his CULTURE. In the past, Briere is rumored to have turned down an offer of a first AND a second round pick, and now that he's older (more veteran=more culture) his value has likely only gone up.

Good luck tearing key pieces like those from a serious contender like the Flyers. If you're looking for some useless little 22-25 year old skill bitches, they'll probably give you Bobby Brink and Morgan Frost for free, though.

I am very happy with getting Hathaway as well as Laughton. I thought Delauriers was an easy target.

"Ouch!" Deslauriers' Agent, probably.

Wouldn't Edmonton have to deal a forward to fit those two in?

Who would they deal off the roster?

I imagine Henrique would have to be moved out.

Have you looked at Holland's trades so far?

Have I got a deal for you: Laughton, D-Lo, and Drysdale for your 2026 #1 and whatever non-Nurse cap ballast you want to attach to make things fit on your end.

No, I haven't recently checked the conditions on your 2025 #1, why do you ask?
