Latvia VS USA | 3:30pm ET | NHLN, TSN | Group A

You are obviously a Finn, right? We are such a negative and pessimistic nation that all this depression could basically power a dozen nuclear stations...
Hahaha! One love. No honestly, I'm not trolling. Finland has been the weakest team in this group so far. We weren't better than Germany. And Latvia will probably lose against the US and then come hungry again with fresh legs against us.
Latvia and Germany are much better than Kazakshtan btw. It's not like I would state we are worse than them.
I'm actually trying to be realistic this time. I've praised Rimpinen a whole lot and Alasiurua a little. But that's only the goalie and one fourth line forward in one game. That there sure doesn't make me, you or anyone that optimistic. Or at least shouldn't.

Also, Mikkola lost the bronze game last year in a way I doubt Jalonen nor Pennanen would've. Historical failure quite frankly. I don't trust him one bit, not yet.

I guess Latvia is going all in. No changes to the lineup.
I am surprised they aren't giving Feldbergs a day off but I guess they will see how they start before making a decision. Can they handle the US top line? Best in the tourney.

USA taking a different approach, not just firing pucks from the point into traffic but trying to beat their man up top or throwing a shot wide and then trying to make a quick play on net off the bounce. Very different from Canada.

Most coaches would probably cringe at this, but I'd like to see the US try to break Latvia down with their skating in the offensive zone.

Latvia plays such a unique style of giving you the entire perimeter and clogging the middle I think slot passes are going to be few and far between today.
