Americans are eating this Canada team alive
As a USA fan, I'm enjoying this thread for posts like this, but ...

TC has disappointed early in this tourney before, and ended up winning Gold. Way too early to count your boys out. Plenty of talent on your team, regardless of who "should have" been picked.

Day off tomorrow to regroup and work on the PP. Cut back on the sloppy play and pointless passing. Drive the net. Lean on McKenna more.

I predict Germany will be in for a rough ride on Sunday.

Watching USA with Hutson was a spectacle. Yes, he missed assignments defensively, but when you get 5 assists and could have had more, no one cares.

And Canada leaves Parekh in Saginaw while having Oliver Bonk, a defensive defenceman, running the first powerplay unit. Hubris by hockey Canada, but what can you expect from awful management.
I live in London and Bonk is a decent D. But in all honesty, 10 other defenseman I would have taken over him. Does not have much vision. For example, guy like Parekh, or anyone else would have saw Ritchie was wide open, back door there. Just shows you how inept this management is. After last years disgrace, they should have been shown the door. Now this....

The Americans are going to feast on the canadians if they play like this

The Americans did give up 4 goals to Germany yesterday. People are acting like the Americans are some well oiled machine that can't be stopped right now lol
Canada-USA at the WJC is one of the bitterest rivalries in hockey. TC will be up for that game every time.

Augustine had an uncharacteristic bad game. 2 fairly routine stops and a muffed cover became goals. I wouldn't extrapolate any conclusions from Germany's 4-goal outburst.

If Canada doesn't win the group, they aren't going to win gold. It's one of those years where we just don't have enough talent to compete with USA, let alone get a harder path to the gold medal game. Too much skill left at home because HC loves to galaxy brain their rosters and coaching staff.

If Schaefer is gone, it will probably all but cement us not winning gold, too.

Nah, that's a losers mentality.

Come with the possibility that you might win, not with the expectation that you'll lose. I remember C. Ronaldo called out Iceland at the Euros for the same thing. They celebrated a win in a group stage game and Ronaldo said that's a losers mentality.

What are you going to say, Iceland has accomplished way more than C. Ronaldo ever has? Oh yeah, your personal attacks don't mean much.
You really take the worst take of all time on every post you ever do angle to heart. It's an impressive skill.

These kids are celebrating the biggest win of their hockey lives. Rightfully so. It's a hell of an accomplishment. Congratulations to Latvia. Well earned party for themselves

Just one game, but Canada clearly needs to do some inner reworkings as that effort tonight can't be repeated unless they want to go medal less here

Sure, but for Canada, they could still win the whole thing, as unlikely as that might seem right now.

Eliminating a team just is a whole different level of upset IMO.
This isn't a game to be assessed from a Canadian standpoint. It's historic for Latvia.

Totally agree that TC has as good a chance at gold as USA or Sweden.

Argentina lost to Saudi Arabia and then won the World Cup.

I think these kinds of upsets are far more common in the round robin. In the backs of their minds, they know it’s not the end.

I’ve seen Canada lose to France, Norway, etc.

Obviously they are also more common earlier in the tournament because there are more weaker teams to upset the stronger teams.

Whereas, a team like Belarus eliminating Sweden in a quarter final is a whole other level.

Anyway, just my opinion. Bigger upsets require bigger stakes.

It's probably been discussed already, but Easton Cowen's shootout "attempt" was genuinely embarrassing as a fan of hockey. The shittiest/worst/dumbest attempt I have ever seen. Goes in slow, does a bunch of stickhandling drills on the blue line skating towards the boards, slows down more and does more stickhandling, does not one but TWO stupid leg kicks then has a pathetic shot. Get the f*** off this team you clown.

This guy is trash and I am so glad Leaf fans over inflate this goofball, what an awful player. Guy is also incredibly selfish out there, him and Ritchie are both selfish clowns that tried to play hero hockey in the third, you donkeys aren't Connor Bedard, f*** off and pass it to Gavin.
Gavins shootout attempt was f***ing awful aswell.
