never have i seen that happen with Denmark, stop being so obvious lol.
We just learned a thing or two about your age, as Finland last lost to Denmark in 2018, 3-2. Before that, Finland lost to Denmark in 2010, with a rather embarrassing 5-1 score.

All in all, though, Finland has suffered around five to seven clear underdog losses over the last decade, so it's hardly not "all the time", though - as there are still tens of games they've won.

Finland really got the Hannu Hanhi group this time. Fine, USA has quality, but the rest? Nope. Canada left a walkover with college players from upper Ontario and Germany and Kazakstan battle for the 3rd and 4th place. Not exactly exciting stuff.

Not that it excuses Sweden playing the worst hockey since 1937, but still, the bragging winning the group shouldn't be that high. The B group is rather shit.

I can't see anyone on these forums bragging really though now or in the future days.

Edit: With the way Finland has played we don't deserve to be even close to 1st spot but then again who does.

Naw, of course not. No Finn would brag about that. I just mean the group difference is rather bad this year.
Indeed, only players that seem to have anything between their ears on the team is Lundell and also Ruotsalainen to a degree, Lundell is going to be a star in the NHL and that's the only positive thing from this tournament so far from the Finn's.

If the group stage is lopsided, it'll just mean a harder QF, as even winning the group won't mean an easier opponent for the game of death. Finland will be at least 2nd in Group B with a chance to finish on top, but the likely QF opponent will be one of CZE, SWE, SVK, SUI.

The real Gladstones are whoever finish in top-two in Group A, as it looks like they'll get to play two out of the following three: KAZ, GER, LAT.

Well, that's another way to see it and I must say you have a point.

Watching that GWG on replay... Lundell making it look easy, but that was also a world-class pass from the "offensive blackhole" known as Olli Määttä.

We'll talk when the QFs are over. No team has been exactly stellar in Group A either. While Russia seems to be the heavy favorite, every other team seems to be quite beatable this year.

Upsets can happen - and sometimes they will happen. But there's still no question whether you want to draw an elite country or a 2nd tier country for the game of death. You yourself were eyeing at Slovakia for the QF opponent, and if I have to guess, it's not because of their performances in this tournament alone.

Yes let’s play run and gun with Canada. That’s a sure fire plan for success. Get over yourself lmao.
No, I agree with that, we can't really compete with Canada playing a run and gun game. However, we should be controlling the games against lower tier teams, but so far pretty much every game except for the Italy game have been a 50/50 struggle.

The subtext there was that there's not that big of a difference between both groups.

There can be 3 teams from Group B in the semis without any upsets. Germany beating Switzerland (2nd seed) wouldn't be exactly shocking.
