Florida didn’t make a single trade deadline acquisition last year and won the cup. It feels like the leafs did a majority of their acquisitions this summer. With the adds on defense

Then I feel we are a clear step below both the lighting and panthers. We have worse forward depth, around the same level defences and equal rn but less proven goaltending. We struggle to score in the playoffs and now in the regular season too, yet we haven’t addressed that issue, what’s gonna change then?

It’s not very often that these deadline deals make that big of a difference. Plug a couple of small holes and rely on the guys that got you there.

It’s weird that people want all these changes with 20 games left.

Our most success (isn’t luch) but it is when we made a bunch of changes (gustafsson, McCabe, Lafferty, orielly, acciari) we actually saw a second round playoff game with them.

The core as it is, isn’t good enough to win a single round, they need help and they need a lot of it to do anything notable
