I’m not too sure tbh! There’s an argument you put Laughton with some offensive options he could be really effective. He’s not the top of my list and I certainly wouldn’t give a first for him. I think he’ll be cheaper than Schenn Thoth
N if tree does that he needs to go cause the bad will have out weighed the good tanev is a positive mccabe contracts a positive stolarz is a positive oel was a decent add everything else Hes done is a negativeIt would be such a Leaf thing to do to flip Robertson just has he’s starting to figure things outwatch us get a 3rd round pick and he ends up becoming another Verhaeghe

There may be less action, and we are in first place in the division, but a few moves should definitely be done. With our cap situation, it may be difficult to add impact players. Also, if we're going to add peripheral players like Edmundson, Dewar, Lybushkin, then don't do it. There are those who say this team will only go as far as our core brings us, in which case, it's better to do nothing. The only player on that list that I think we may not see again is Steeves. Not because he shouldn’t be in the NHL but because of numbers.
I think there will be far less action than people are expecting. I’m ok with that. Big changes can disrupt things. This is a first place team
lol that had to be a joke I missed cause I definitely wasn’t talking about timmins filling a roleYeah I know Timmins fills a role but he needs to be upgraded on.
He’s still missing a key piece on the bacc end one I’ll argue he traded one for peanuts so I guess we’ll wait until the deadline to judge the finished productHe’s done a good job creating a secondary defensive and goaltending backbone but his forward work has been poor.
Now that Florida has Seth Jones as well, time for Tre to work some magic.Yanni Gourde is out for our consideration: To Tampa with Bjorkstrand.
Agreed. I'd try for a couple of other support pieces, but bare bones, we need those two boxes ticked. Now that Florida has Seth Jones as well, time for Tre to work some magic.
We need a 3rd line center and right handed dman. Don't think we go past the second round without upgrades there.
Too bad he doesn’t share the cores ferocious take no prisoners lay it all on the line approach to playoff hockey.Nobody's going anywhere.
Everybody's staying right where they are. Even the chumps are all gonna be here next week. Maybe a middling pick for another useless scrub.
Personally I wouldn't care if they traded every single player on that list and a few more as well.
But that's not gonna happen. More than once Treliving said he wasn't a deadline wheeler and dealer and his history shows it. Then wonders why he's never gotten past the second round.
If Panthers or Lightning win again he'll blame it on taxes.
Can't possibly be the fact Al Bundy could run this team better than Bundy doppleganger is. Matthews contract is only four years and he's writing the first one off. Failing to reward the team for a strong performance.
If Treliving isn't gonna support his players he shouldn't be surprised when they quit in the first round again.
The thing is, when we look at Cup winners or finalists, we look at their 3C, those 3Cs can be 2Cs. We can’t do that bc of the caphit on our 1C and 2C. That’s why our 3C and bottom 6 will always be at best-great bottom 6 players instead of lower end 2nd line players.I don’t know where the Laughton group think originated but if it’s our pro scouting, I’m not impressed. For years we’ve built these lame bottom six groups full of these indistinguishable plain forwards who are a little bit two way, a little bit utility, a little bit of safety but very little upside, special size profile, athleticism, or real personality and winning pedigree. I look at Laughton and I’m thinking Kerfoot-Jarnkrok base model with slightly different settings, low upside, low impact.

The players only get paid for the regular season.
So they need to be extra motivated to win the cup. Which these players clearly aren't. Treliving sure isn't helping motivate them by doing nothing while their bitter rivals are making bold moves to improve.
The hoarding of futures only makes sense if they don't plan on keeping this core together when the Matthews contract expires.
They are never going to show that they have what it takes to win…….because they don’t have itNo, no, no, no, no.
Dubas took that approach of trying to motivate the team through big TDL deals and they responded by choking each time. Absolutely insane to me that any observer of this team believes that Treliving will motivate these guys by going big this week.
The correct answer is that Treliving should do nothing substantial until these guys show that have what it takes to win in the playoffs. And the spoiler alert is that it's clear that's never going to happen. So me, I'd be perfectly content if this team save their picks & prospects until this core is long gone.

Lol brother we are getting Laughton, with Gourde going back to Tampa, I think they are gonna push for Laughton
I don’t see a big splash happening. It’s going to be minor deals, but fck, Seattle got two first rounders for Gourde and Bjorkstrand… what will Laughton cost? Not sure what other centers are available
