If Wings give up and start tanking, Larkin should demand a trade. What is a reasonable return for the Wings captain?
I really hope that if this happens it's not Lambert, but that's just my personal opinion. If Helle & Connor can convince him to waive I'd imagine anything would be on the table in a package from the Jets. Gets him out of conference for the Wings which would be a bonus.
Lambert/Yager/Chibrikov + 2025 First + 2026 First (top 5 protected) for Larkin?
Would completely transform the Jets 2nd line for the last few seasons of the Helle window.
Connor - Scheifele - Vilardi
Perfetti - Larkin - Ehlers
Nino - Lowry - Appleton
Iafallo - Namestnikov - Chibrikov
I don't see how Detroit trades him and gets better immediately and in the near future?
Are they trading for an upgrade on defense, goaltending or for a younger top 6 center?
And how is Detroit getting better in the near future with the incoming 8th pick? Im not saying Wings are considering trading Larkin, im saying Larkin is considering saying "trade me".I don't see how Detroit trades him and gets better immediately and in the near future?

They are not considering this, he should though. If they’re considering this, it’s because he doesn’t align with their realistic window. Trading him would be about re-aligning their window. The problem is, Detroit hasn’t had much luck when it comes to being in a position to drafting centers. So one could understand their reluctance.
