Rumor: Larkin requests trade

I'd argue Stevie would consider it, but it's not gonna be cheap. So if anyone in the East wants him, they better be prepared to pony up.
Eastern Conf options have to be considered. In the west:
Van, Nash, Cal are rebuilding.
LA, Stl should both be in a retool
Edm set at C
SJ, Chi, timeline doesn't seem to fit to acquire a 30 year old C.

Sea, Win potential trading partners, but are they destinations that Larkin would waive to?

Min, Col, LV, Dal, Ana, Utah probably the places he'd waive to and that would want him. Issue is can they complete a trade with these clubs given what they have to give up?

Now that we have a narrowed list, how many of them would be willing to pay Stevie's asking price? I'm no mind reader, so I don't know what that is, but you can rest assured that it's also not gonna be cheap.

Lots of folks seem to believe we should/will enter at least a re-tool because of this. I don't think that's necessarily true, for I think this is our re-tool. I'm willing to accept being wrong here, but I don't think Stevie or the boys like that we now hold the longest string of seasons without playoffs in the league.

So, what do those teams have that we want, and are they willing to give that up for a 1C/2C?

How close is Detroit? Cause, do any of Kasper, Danielsson, Nygard, Bear look like they can be better than what Larkin was for Detroit?
Maybe they can be a PO team, but they are in the most difficult division top to bottom. Fla and Tor who finished below them are going to look to get back to the PO, on top of the 5 others who did make the PO.

Those 5 options in the west make the most sense, but I don't think Yzerman limits himself to just the west. He has to be open to moving Larkin East. Metro, yes, those teams have to be options. And even in division.

I like Seattle - even as a neutral fan. I love their jerseys.

With that said I don’t foresee Larkin liking them very much. They’re not better than us and they’re in a worst spot than we are imo.

If Larkin goes there or waives to a team that’s worse than us… I firmly believe there’s way more behind the scenes.

A lot more.

I don’t think people should forget about the Habs. I understand his whole team USA thing, but him in the Habs would make them absolutely scary. Pretty much elevates them as for sure cup contenders.

I still like Utah and NJ as my main hopefuls.
