He was younger than Hutson and I've sure you didn't watch hockey then or am I wrong there...and Hutson played with Caufield and Suzuki so whats your point? Call me when Hutson in the Hall of Fall and has won multiple(4) Stanley Cups

I was born a few years earlier and saw plenty of Murphy with the Pens when they won their cups.
My point is Hutson has done this in a much lower scoring era, while Murphy had 3 guys with 100+ points. It shouldn't be too hard to grasp, even for you. That's why his adjusted after 80 games (including his 2 games last season) is 69 points, while Murphy is 59 points.

And since then he's all but won it and there's been 0 discourse challenging that. The only contender is Wolf if he gets Calgary into the playoffs.
I can't see how Hutson could lose the Calder at this point, he could have sat out all of last week's games and the remaining 2 games and he'd still be the favourite IMO.
I'm sure there are some homer writers who might give votes to other candidates.
But objectively, it's Hutson's trophy.
The Calder Trophy isn't a vote to pick which rookie will have the best career, which seems to be the main argument for the Celebrini voters.
It's for who had the best season.

Hutson is still the (very) heavy favorite on fanduel. Hutson -1700 vs +750 for Macklin. That's a chasm in terms of odds.
Hutson has already reached the historical milestones (6th in points, 2nd in assists, 2nd in ES points, among all-time rookie Ds) that will make him the Calder favorite. The rest is just gravy.

For what? Even if he ends up 7th all-time, 2nd for assists and 2nd for ES pts, it doesn't matter. All those milestones are extremely rare. That's why the odds are still massively in his favor.
He has the Calder already locked in.
