Cale Makar’s rookie season PPG is a bit misleading because he still missed 13 games due to injury, so even if the season hadn’t been shortened by COVID, he wouldn’t have played a full 82 games. He finished with 50 points in 57 games, but the Avalanche had 12 games left when the season was canceled, meaning he would have only played 69 games at most. That puts his actual rookie-season pace at around 61 points in 69 games, not the full 82-game projection people often use.
