Player Discussion Lane Hutson: Part 3 - Calder Edition

Your boy obviously hit a wall. Needs to put on the muscle this summer.

Also skating lessons would be great.

Whether he wins or loses that award isn’t going to affect his contract much.
Every little bit will help down the line, IMO.

Really needs to work on his shot and become more of a dual threat.
Agree with the shot thing. Needs to have Caufield show him how to generate power with a small frame.

The 2 weeks off will do him a ton of good

It's so funny people still look at this kid, who's doing really well btw, as a finished product at 20 lol
I also think he's not physicaly mature yet.So they play him
too much. He will handle it better in a year or two. But at
least this year he will get a two week break now.

Hutson is young, but he will build top stamina as he will now know how he must dose his energies in the following seasons to be at his best.

Strictly based on yesterday game, Celebrini is better than Hutson.
Hutson is a 20 year old 5'10 rookie defenseman on a shit team. Especially in the defenseman department. He is currently the point leader for all rookies and 10th for points among all defensemen... No quarter was given to this kid. 20+ minutes a night.

Hutson cards are out

Some nice ones

He has hit a wall for sure. He is not used to play so many games , and against so many skilled and big players. The 10 days rest might help him a bit.

2 completely different roles is like comparing Karlsson and crosby, 1st overall and a talent going 62nd overall, I think we can make different assumptions on their styles.

Hutson will always have a disability: inability to defend against bigger players. His stock is at an all time high, what better a time to trade him for a legit 2C or 1RHD prospect.

While I like him, hes nothing more than a circus act atm.

Ridiculously bad take
He's a pint sized dmanin a league with huge players. No different mugsey bogues in the NBA. Fun, sure.. but not a game changer. Sooner we can move on the better. Exactly why he slipped to #62.

He's anything but a Dman - rather a 4th Forward.

You obviously don't appreciate the good things in life ;)
Sell him now, he's at his highest, and will he seeking $9M/yr.

That's 100% correct.
