He made some records in the ncaa

While Mesar was playing with scrubs in the ohl

Its really not that hard to know why, it has nothing to do with potential
Yeah and he's making some records in the NHL now while Mesar sits in the AHL. But yeah Mesar has more potential lol.

Like I said, let's check back in in 5 years and see how they're doing. I'll try not to dunk too hard.

I feel like he's just memeing it at this point. Mesars not even the best forward prospect in Laval even with Beck up and Roy injured.

Interesting how many guys are struggling after the hot start under Vincent though. His favourites are vastly different than the previous coach and usage/stats reflect it pretty heavily. Tons of guys not even half of their pace from last year while the new favorites are doing very well.

But in no world is a .5ppg AHL forward close to a near ppg NHL dman. Hutson is such a massive lucky break for the team since Slaf is barely a top six forward.

im getting this strange feeling you would take hutson over Demidov too
You have alot of strange feelings apparently. I'm getting the strange feeling you think Mesar is generational. No I wouldn't trade Demigod for Hutson but it would be close given Hutson's impact as a top offensive dman. But lmao if you think Mesar has anywhere near Demigod's potential. I wouldn't trade Beck for Mesar straight up at this point.

Anyway, let's revisit in 5 years.

That's a lot to ask for. Doesn't mean he can keep up this pace and rhythm. He could hit a slump in the second half of the season.

I think if he reaches 50 pts, it's already very impressive. 60 pts, it's elite. 70 pts, you're talking Norris caliber offensive production.

The only other rookie D in the last 30 years to go PPG in a sequence of 25 games or more was Cale Makar. If Makar had played the entire season, there's a good chance he would've hit 70 too.

I didn't "ask" for anything. I just layed out the possibilities.

As tu vu une game dans tas vie de Mesar lgros? Une game…?

Si tu sais pas de quoi tu parle, pk tu t’engages a argumenter pour rien?

Google Translate:

Sure, lets wait
In 1 year we’ll know for sure

He will not catch the top 3 there (barring an injury) but could realistically finish 4th in points among D-men. He will get Norris votes at this rate. Not kidding.

His usage is not going to change either. He's getting #1 PP usage and top paring minutes.

Production since Nov 27th... Probably around the same time he was promoted to #1PP? Or was this after Nov 27th?

If you project this production for the rest of the season, he ends up with 77 pts. I'm not betting against this kid.

Hutson may be the best player from 2022 after it's all said and done.
I love Slaf and think he can be a superstar potentially but even then, Hutson could be a top 5 player in the league in his prime.

Either way, people talk about how bad that draft is and it could turn out to be one of the greatest drafts for us ever.

yeah I've watched him play. Have you watched anything other than highlights?

Sure let's revisit in one year, we can all laugh at your comments sooner than in 5 years.

Et j'ai pas besoin de Google Translate mon petit naiseux

Do you know who you're speaking to?
Iv been fighting on this hill for 3 years now, iv had 10 vs 1 word battles in the past on this very same subject.

Any way, it was a good fight, we'll see how it goes, i do also have my doubts but i still believe in the project and i also am a fan of Hutson so i see no point in fighting over this.
Its not like you're going to cry of sadness if Mesar fulfills the prophecy while simultaneously Hutson finishes top 3 in the league year after year?

you do you man. It will be comical in 1-2 years revisiting your genius posts. Yeah the guy sitting in the AHL has more potential than the rookie who may get Norris votes and should be the leading Calder candidate. Too funny

Any way i dont want to continue on this topic because there's no point its far too early, he just got back from an injury, lets see how he does going forward, hopefully they give him 1st line duties and 1st PP time so that we can judge if he's actually a legit PPG guy or not over a long period of time

What worthwhile coach trashes young players? Of course MSL is gonna say good things. When did I say Mesar was a bust, you just gonna keep making shit up? I think Mesar is a solid prospect and said so earlier but imo he's not going to be anywhere near as impactful as Hutson and is questionable to even be an NHL regular. Also why does Mesar need Demidov to reach his potential? Hutson doesn't.

I hope I'm wrong but I think we'll be laughing even harder at your takes in 1-2 years. Later

Rink rat and I love it! He's clearly focused at improving and is not complacent. That goes a long way and it's the best development ingredient IMO. It is a job or a hobby? With Hutson, it's a hobby.
His work ethic and IQ will take him and the Habs to great places (I hope)

Weak and deep draft narratives always have lots of flaws. How the hell do you know when it's deep or week when the draft year is not even played out? The draft year is the most important

Mesar's NHL potential is low. It's normal and very likely for a 26th overall pick to fail at the NHL level to begin with.

Decent use of our dart that does not appear to work out. It happens but the most important thing is it's not happening year after year like it did with Bergevin.
