Where does Lane Hutson rank in defenseman rankings today.

His potential is sky high but I want to know about these first 2 months.

Edit: After poll results I have added more options. 36 and higher may be considered as 36 to 39 but most likely just higher. Could not change wording or remove. So if you have voted and want to recast your vote that would be cool.

right now I think he'd be the 1D on a few teams.... 2D on many.

Ill say 30-35

edit: hes now 14th in points and 40th in TOI/G amongst Dmen

on pace for 3G 56A and 111 blk shots with 22:39 of TOI/G.

Say all that you want about his defense, until you actually watch him play his -14 is more a reflection of playing top mins on a team at the bottom of the standings.

I know someone that has him ranked very highly. So I thought I'd give him his rankings.

Wish I continued with the ranks going higher. Seems people really have him ranked much lower.
Always going to be a few people that rank their prospects high. 85-90% of people selecting the bottom option is going to result in a rather meaningless poll though

I have added more options but couldn't change 36 and higher. But I think those votes prove my point and not his.

Karlsson did play his style (zero defence) and put up 26 points as a rookie
I know which is why he has great potential. That’s just what the poll is about, it’s not terribly valuable if I was picking a list of defenseman for their current talents right now.

Are we just making shit up in here?

Karlsson wasn't a particularly high event player in his rookie season. His xGA and xGF didn't stick out from his teammates.

When he became a high event player, in his third season, he also became the 10th highest scoring player in the league.

Literally nothing about that is made up but ok

Why are you comparing rookie Hutson to 3rd year Karlsson? This post makes zero sense

If Karlsson was a zero defense player in his rookie season, why is that not at all reflected in either his shots against, scoring chances against, goals against, or expected goals against?

Because you were comparing Hutson to a Karlsson who sacrificed defense for offense? Wasn't that abundantly clear by my stating outright that Karlsson's becoming a high event player coincided with his putting up a shit ton of points?

Hutson pacing to double his production, read it and weep

Edit: even going to out produce Karlsson’s 2nd year where he didn’t “sacrifice defence” and went -30 lmfao

Are you confused? Do you not understand what I'm saying about how his shots against, scoring chances against, etc. don't reflect that he sacrificed defense for offense?

Why would I read anything and weep? Do you think I'm a Senators fan?

Do you not understand what I mean about high event hockey? Is that the issue?
