I traded McAvoy straight up for Hutson earlier this year in my keeper pool. I'm thrilled.

The kid has been nothing less than brilliant..................the haters need to deal with it, and have some crow, it would do them well.
Who?Maybe one day he'll be as good as Devils Legends Casey and Nemec
If secondary assists are so easy, how come no other d-man on the Habs, or any other rookie d-man in the NHL, is even in the same stratosphere as Hutson for the number of them? He must be the luckiest d-man in the league this season.Assists ARE points. So are goals. AS a defenceman, your more likely to get more assists than goals as your always trying to feed the fwds who usually score the most goals. When a defenceman is as talented as Hutson, they will racking in the assists.
Even for the Habs they probably don't draft him if they didn't already pick 3 times earlier in the draftMontreal is a divisional rival, but I'm never upset to see a franchise rewarded for betting on pure skill in the draft. Too many cowardly GMs still prioritize size when it's apparent the talent isn't there, and that's how you end up with Brady Cleveland in the 2nd (no, I'm not salty...).
yup, can't give too much credit to Hughes for this one. He felt that Slaf, Mesar and beck were better prospects. Just got lucky he was there with the Oilers pick at 62Even for the Habs they probably don't draft him if they didn't already pick 3 times earlier in the draft
He made his luck by having 4 picks in the first two rounds but yes this as far as scouting is concerned...yup, can't give too much credit to Hughes for this one. He felt that Slaf, Mesar and beck were better prospects. Just got lucky he was there with the Oilers pick at 62
Oh i know! But people who don't watch him play are gonna have this to say to validate their assumptions.nah, he doesn't tho
I want the Habs to draft Hutson at Mesar pick. At Beck pick, I was so upset thinking Hutson probably would be gone at Oilers 2nd round pick. Luckily, all GMs were dinosaur and keep drafting players based on size.yup, can't give too much credit to Hughes for this one. He felt that Slaf, Mesar and beck were better prospects. 62 points in 74 Games, as a rookie?!
You simply can't stop that train!
Choo Choo muthaf***aaaaaaas!!
Its crazy when you look at that list of names and realize they played in the 80's/90's... He just past Nick LIdstrom and that was when Lidstrom was a rookie in 1991. Lidstrom's numbers are impressive to me though as that was at the start of the dead-puck era.7th overall for rookie defencemen in scoring, with 8 games to go. Could challenge for #2 all time at this rate.

The dead puck era started around 1996-97. There was 29 PPG players in 1990-91.Its crazy when you look at that list of names and realize they played in the 80's/90's... I stand corrected. Lidstrom sucks. Lane >> Lidstrom. Not really. The DPE started a few seasons later. 92-93 broke a lot of scoring records because of the new sticks and goalie equipment didn't change until 94 or 95.
In his rookie season, the Wings scored 4 goals per game and Lidstrom was 6th best scorer on his team. Hutson is 3rd on a team scoring 1 goal less per game.
lidstroms wings scored exactly 4 gf per game. This years habs exactly 3Its crazy when you look at that list of names and realize they played in the 80's/90's... suters flames scored like 400 goals the year he was a rookieOut of the 6 guys who have now score pts as rookie dmen, 5 are Hall of famers (Leetch, Chelios, Murphy, Bourque, Horsley ) and only Gary Suter - a 5x all star wasn't.
This is very elite company
Ya 92-93 was on par with some the 80's in terms of scoring. Not really. The DPE started a few seasons later. 92-93 broke a lot of scoring records because of the new sticks and goalie equipment didn't change until 94 or 95.
