Landeskog returns. Avs loan him to AHL for conditioning stint

It's gonna be a huge load of the shoulders of MacKinnon, I expect him to burst when his fellow returns
oh, I'd bet not much comes off his shoulders when Landeskog hasnt played in 3 years. Probably wont be the same.

They're going to be stacked for the playoffs.

Lehkonen - MacKinnon - Necas
Landeskog - Nelson - Nikushkin
Drouin - Coyle - Colton

Landeskog hasn't played competitive hockey in three years. Dropping him straight into the top six in the playoffs most likely isn't going to happen.

I'd just be happy if he's not a huge liability on the third line. His comeback is going to bring so much emotional boost, the Avs are going to be juiced as hell.

Yeah, play him on the 3rd or the 4th line, I'd say start him slow on the 4th line. I think his presence will be enough to give the team a boost.

no its convenient that his 3 year injury just happens to be ready for game 1 of the playoffs, while able to be sent to the AHL waiting out the salary cap.
He's had multiple setbacks so this isn't the first time he's tried to return lol, even this season. He's ramping up for one last serious attempt, and along with medical guidance I'm sure, they're timing it to play it a bit safe in regards to if he's even going to be an NHL level player when he hits the ice again.

You shouldn't be so obviously terrified of this being like foul play or something. He's likely to play 4th line minutes and comp and be mostly an emotional boost. His agility is likely mostly gone.

Real talk: What do they do salary cap wise if he can play next year? Hard to think they will be able to keep Nelson

Athleticism has to be kept at the same level though and the margins between top athletes are pretty small.

Makes sense. Especially when you consider the margins between top athletes.
